Dear Fletcher, Dean Robert's online Morning Prayer comforted and sustained me during some personal dark times. I had hoped that Dean Robert would visit northern California, but God obviously had other plans. As you experience your first Christmas without your beloved partner, you are in my thoughts and prayers as I know you are being remembered by the entire garden congregation. May the purpose of organizing and publishing Dean Robert's papers ease your 2025 as you discern the road ahead. With every good wish, Susanne Pierce Dyer 24 December 2024 P.S. Thank you for your observations about the state of the world. Your plea for kindness and gentleness between people defines what is desperately needed. I pray that it will be heeded.

Thank you St Barts and Fletcher for this intimate and heartwarming sharing about Dean Robert. I'm so grateful for your ministry through the garden congregation. That wouldn't have happened without you, Fletcher. I was always so touched with the care you took each day in preparation for morning prayer. What a gift you both are to the world.

Such a lovely, tribute, Fletcher. You were such a wonderful team and you convey this eloquently. For me, Robert was the quintessential, English Dean - fiercely intelligent but also warm and humorous. I am not surprised to learn that prior to composing hymns, he dedicated time to more frivolous verse. Fletcher, I hope that you know that you are much-loved in Canterbury and I have such fond memories of the times I have spent with you both.

I know DR is smiling down and you have made him so very proud, Fletcher. It was a deep blessing to hear you speak, so flawless in your delivery. You are so very dear to the Garden Congregation, know how precious and brilliant you are, how truly remarkable a life you shared with Robert that will be a legacy from here to eternity. Be patient and be kind. What a message. Thank you so much Fletcher for keeping this all alive. I was told of the Garden Congregation by a friend who saw my distress back in 2021. I too was heartbroken when you were thrown out of the garden and more in May 2022 but continue to be inspired by all you have done and continue to do.

Fletcher I have never met you but I knew Robert in his Hereford days as I went to the Cathedral there as a newly wed with my husband who was a canon. He and Robert had been at Cuddesdon together and shared a keen sense of humour. Sadly it didn’t work out for us there, but I remember Robert with huge affection. He was so so kind to me being so much younger ( I was 22 when we arrived) and just out of college myself. He would always ensure I was included and looked after at social gatherings. It was wonderful to hear that he found deep love with you and had a beautiful companion with which to share his life and ministry with. It is never easy being a clergy spouse. My heart goes out to you in your loss. Know of our prayers. Rest in Peace dear Robert I’m sure the Lord snatched you because you had done enough. and he wanted to reward you. Sending much love. ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏

Thank-you, Fletcher and St.Bart's for doing this...Fletcher, you have shown great courage and strength during this difficult time. You do reflect Robert in so many ways. Robert may be absent from the body, but his spirit will be with you, always. Thank-you for the example that you have set in dealing with the opposition. I will carry your words with me, and with God's help, be able to enact them...Be Patient and Be Kind. May the Lord continue to watch over you and grant to you His favour as you journey onward, until we all meet again. Much love and continued prayer for you and all who love Robert. T xx
