Very nice use of the SWD's expanded backstory from the Remembrance novelisation. I still find it intriguing that we got a reference to the "Time War" over 15 years before it became such a huge element of Nu-Who.

3:55 that’s unexpected because the special weapons dalek is still a imperial dalek,so why did it exterminates the regular imperial dalek.
@mestormagnificent15503 жыл бұрын
Three issues are raised prominently in the narrative to explain this: 1. The Imperial Dalek is questioning the orders of the Emperor; 2. The Imperial Dalek is speaking out against the use of the Special Weapons Dalek; 3. The Special Weapons Dalek clearly states that the Imperial Dalek is one of the last surviving Necros Daleks, and therefore impure. Not quite so unexpected when all of that is taken into account.

Damn I've missed this. Makes you wonder which others Daleks were feared by their own kind. Besides Dalek X from the novel "Prisoners of the Daleks" and the Insane Daleks from the Asylum (which also had a Special Weapons Dalek funnily enough) we've not really seen that many Daleks which are legitimately feared by the others.
@mestormagnificent15503 жыл бұрын
Good points. I always think there is a fear and respect shown by lower ranking Daleks to Black Daleks and Supremes. That section leader in Planet of the Daleks is positively quaking in his hemispheres when the Supreme arrives on Spiridon.
@Daldi5643 жыл бұрын
@@mestormagnificent1550 I'd say that's equivalent to someone being fearful of their boss because they don't want to get caught slacking off. The kind of fear I'm talking about is like getting trapped in a room with someone like Charles Manson or Hannibal Lector.

@mestormagnificent15503 жыл бұрын
I'm delighted that something I made 10 years ago is inspiring nostalgia. I'm very grateful for your interest. I don't think I will remake it. I'm very happy with how it turned out. I suppose the only thing I would do differently would be to use the correct incidental music. At the time, I had no access to the isolated Remembrance score, so used the Resurrection score instead. Other than that, I'm still very pleased with this one after all these years. I will, however, continue to keep revisiting Remembrance in other animations, as it is my all time favourite story.

@mestormagnificent15503 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Regarding the accuracy of the voices, the Imperials in particular have voices modulated at a much higher frequency than 'normal' (if there is such a thing) Classic Daleks. It's simply a matter of playing it by ear until you find a sound that matches.
