Remington 1100 Disassembly and Reassembly

Taking that magazine cap off was making me anxious because I couldn't figure what to do to it. Thanks very much for the helpful video to fix my Grandaddy's 1100!

good video. ive had mine since i was 11 years old (im 60 now) still use it to hunt and shotgun sports. It's seen a lot of use. still use it regularly today, in my oponion the best shotgun ever made, i have an 870, a Moss 500, and a way too expencive Benelli for what it does - always go to my 1100. I rairly clean the bolt, everything else yes...btw i use a dowel to help with that spring.

The correct way to remove your magazine spring is you take a big flat head screwdriver, place in the slots and push down slightly, then you turn your spring cap a quarter inch to the left or right to unlock it. Note as you stated you should use caution because that spring is under significant pressure therefore it can fly out and cause serious injury if not careful.

Uncle has the exact same shotgun, he lets me use it for hunting in the fall all the time. It's a breeze to shoot, i just needs a slings and a shorter barrel.

I'm not trying to embarrass you but just correct you on the magazine tube. The tube is not blued and is supposed to be the metal finish at the bottom of your tube. The reason it is darker at the top is due to poor cleaning. Get some Hoppe's number 9 and rub it really really hard with a lot of cleanser.

I have a Remington 1100 (inherited from my Dad)...approximately CIRCA 1967, I pull the bolt back, remove the magazine cap, slide off the wood piece, but the barrel will NOT budge...any suggestions, please?

How do you retract the bolt after removing the barrel? I inadvertently released the bolt and cannot, for the life of me, get it back. Thanks.

I have the same shotgun though I believe it’s its probably from about 2010. How to do I get the tube itself off I got it off a friend and and the end of the tube looks like it imploded

I have a model1100Lt-20. That I am having a problem with it extracting and reloading a shell after the first shot. Any help you can give to correct the problem will be great.

I had that happen once, the rubber o ring is very important!

pro tip: once you have taken the barrel off, by no means left the bolt fly home, the rings from the gas system will fly away never to return again hahah

I didn't find your video helpful. You did not give actual part names , usually called "stuf". I wanted to trigger insertion instead of it hard to do.
