Good video, made me chuckle knowing that those do smack you a bit out of a fixed bolt gun! I also had the experience a few years ago of huge patterns at low yardage. My uncle was upset that I used 00 for that reason, from then on it was #4 buck for feral hogs.

We experienced failure to fires with our 835 too when we did a video with them. Odd coincidence or maybe not?

Interesting. It definitely was not a weak primer strike, it just seemed like a really hard primer that didn't want to dent in easily until the 6th or 7th try. I guess I'll see what happens as I test the other shells in the box if that is a common problem or not, but it's definitely intriguing that other people have had the same problem

Yep, these new Express loads have been surprisingly good. I've got some 0 buck Express loads to test soon as well, so we'll see how those do

Great presentation. What's not to like about that pattern ? Buffered shot, just may be an advantage when running buckshot through a full choke, as there is no plastic wad creating resistance, and the shot is free to adjust naturally.....Federal Flite Control wads say otherwise. Do you find buffered shot to produce better patterns when it's a heavy buckshot load, through a full choke ? ...Your thoughts ? Thanks again and keep up the good work.

Full chokes and buffer greatly help buckshot patterns. Flitecontrol is buffered.

Buffer material, plated pellets, and some kind of wad all seem to make drastic improvements in a lot of buckshot patterns. I have also tested the Flite Control shells through the full range of chokes, and they perform just fine with the tighter chokes like a full even though they weren't initially designed for that purpose

Never had the issue with 19 pellets also no hard primer issues i noticed from a Winchester sxp. Next test for me is I have a bunch of .530 round balls for muzzleloaders so im gonna use load data for a 2-1/16oz shell to make what’s roughly a 4 pellet eight ought load.

I’ll take that. All day. The ol 870 (3.5 chamber) will have some of those ran down her. Some good info thanks.

Yep, definitely can't complain about that pattern!

19? How odd? Leave that one on the bottom one out it looks like a square pattern. A really nice square pattern. Looking forward to more testing with that one.

Outstanding pattern performance. But no fire when hammer falls That is a hard no for me. Please keep up posted on the primer issue. Coyotes would be my primary target with these.
@matttyreeoutdoors22 сағат бұрын
Yeah, I've never once had that happen with this 835, so we'll see what happens as we continue to test them. It was definitely a very nice pattern though

Coyotes would hate that load

Is it me, or was that 19 pellets...?
@matttyreeoutdoors22 сағат бұрын
Yep, I did mention it right when we first looked at the target. It was indeed 19 pellets
