As for why the King went mad was actually explained with one of the promotional posts of the DLC --> The One True King was infected with paranoia during his sleep by the root. As the world's guardian, he's naturally the primary target of the root so while in his vulnerable state, the root made its way into his mind, twisting it to madness.

Thank you for the lore video! Very insightful! I personally think that the madness of the One True King could have come from within the Losom dimension, rather than the root outright. Fact remains that the Root can and will take over any world who's Guardian is weakened or vulnerable. So either through the Sunken Witch Coven, the machinations of the Royal Fae Council and Nimue, or even the Merging of Realms could have caused the Old True King to descend into madness and become vulnerable to the Root. What I want to know is did the Old True King usurp Losom's original Guardian? Everyone world has a Guardian, so this new Losom ought to have two floating about. Unless Nimue is that Guardian.

I think Losomn's guardian bit the dirt before the OTK was awakened. We only see the Losomn that's been merged with the Fae World by Faerin's/Faelin's machinations. So either The Imposter killed Losomn's guardian to let the Fae hunt as they please, or The Nightweaver got her hands on them. The only reason I speculate this is because if Losomn had a Guardian active at that time, they wouldn't be letting the Fae do what they're doing right now to their people, let alone what the OTK is doing right now

I believe the oracle is the guardian of losomn. Only thing of notable power from there, seems she really does see EVERYTHING. She even seems to remember (to a degree) of past runs of losomn with her quilt displaying a variety of the events and world bosses

I wonder who or what will be the new world bosses for N'Erud and Yaesha. Unlike Losomn they don't have sleeping Monarchs. I guess a resurgent Immortal Empress, and the Custodian could be the answer, but neither really fits the world boss criteria.

Theres also all those other unusable portal doors in the Labyrinth that have the potenial of going back to Corsus, Rhom or Reisum from the first game. Or if there's the chance of some Root remnants, then the world that Gabriel (Dreamer before Clementine in lore) was linked to could be possible. Honestly Gunfire Games have a lot of ammo to use for DLC/Future releases.

It saddens me to walk through the mental asylum when thinking about the pain and anguish the poor patients are put through considering NONE of them are hostile like they're all completely docile and friendly you can even talk to most of them.

Nimue is a fae goddess. But unlike the red price came to her status as both by means other than birth. Not surprising, even the least of the fae have amazing abilities so surely gods would rise amonst their ranks. The One True King was not fae but a god and Guardian of his world. Powerful and important to the defense of the world from outside threats. But I suspect Nimue may have accidentally stolen this role from him as part of the rite to first put him to slumber then wake him. After all it apparently is what caused the fae world and the dran world to crash into each other so it may have had many effects and may be why the King both wanted to preserve her and kill her if he truly did become Root tainted at some point.

The civil war in Yaesha for example without knowing what is going on in the Remnant from the ashes you dont know that. But then again that is my opinion.

Like I said Remnant from the ashes the details of the story do awesome job to connect it to other the second one but thats just my opinion still no matter love all the things Harry has done and is doing

Thanks for making this lore vid dude. Losomn is a pretty sad world, where everyone seems to get screwed one way or another. The Dran are the biggest victims in all this, being collateral against the drama the fae are involved in. Then there's the One True King who ended up ruling a species completely opposite to him, where his attempts at introducing morality ended with betrayal and insanity. Last but not the least are the Fae who seemed to be damned into a nature of self destruction. If the King were killed instead of put to sleep, no doubt they would have been devoured by the Root. Also to add, I'm curious as to what made the One True King go mad after waking up. Cause Elowen talks about the King wanting to die and that it seems to be caused by an unknown party. Then there's the drowned witches, deep sea and ancient magic, the ritual and the Ragged Poppet resembling the One True King in shape and resembles a voodoo doll. Seems to me that some eldritch force caused the King's madness.

Side note : I was watching the ending cutscene while helping a random lol but at the end, when ( spoilers ) Clementine does the thing with the stuff at the end, The collector actually teleports away, he doesn’t do the thanos thing like everyone else.

u did this in the other video too but the fae king cannot be harmed by FAE weapons. (hence the goddess making the weapon) anywasy good stuff remnant lore is based cant believe u forgot the red king but a lot of stuff got glossed over so makes sense fair enuf

so the red king in the next to be made game will have some root with him as his aspect is fire which burns the root but to use it to control them the Fae /the king kept the root under this throne to save the Fae. 3 will be good the root is coming for them.

Just started to play this game. Saw it on the Game Pass. It's probably me, but it's kind of boring? The introduction kind of killed the excitement. After hearing the story is lackluster from reviews, I agree. But still have a long way to go. And give a shot at this DLC.

The reason was nothing made or wielded by the fae could kill him. A point countless before proved. But you are not fae and by your bound status to the world stone are pretty much a demigod at the very least. So by virtue of being foreign divinity you have nothing holding you back from laying low a god. Also the One True King may be weakened from his ordeal which may be reason why he is purging anything and everything that even gets snippy with him.
