Fun fact! I just tried this at home, left my nails in the hot water for 10 minutes and they popped right off in one piece?? I think you just have to lightly buff the top to break the seal but keep the gel thick so it peels easier. Also the water should be as hot as you can comfortably stand. Then work horizontally rather than vertically and it should (in theory) work! Best of luck! ❤

So what I've learned to do with gel nails, do not take off the top coat. Use hot water with dish soap and wait ten minutes or so. I found this out by doing the dishes and it took the whole thing off. Now I have to wear gloves to do dishes so it doesn't happen... it does work...

I literally just did dishes with old gel polish on and nothing has happened. The only time something that should happen is if you are already experiencing lifting. If this were the case none of my clients would come back with anything on their nails.

Interesting idea. Thanks for checking it out. I'm not very surprised with your results. It just doesn't make sense to me though. I want to say that I do try to be diligent with gloves... I try. In real life I garden, The friction from the gloves and or dirt will wear off the some of top coat in some areas. Then when I forget my gloves and do dishes nothing lifts ever! I think it's because I have a FANTASTIC nail tec. 😉

@@TonjaWatts I followed your instruction's on not touching the nail once you see it and move to a different area no damage done some might have just carried on

If just water worked , nail techs would have been using it already for years, it's much cheaper than acetone.
