The stem I am removing is a SALTPLUS "Field" stem.
The stem I am installing is a FSA Black Eye Stem with removable gyro tabs.

I’m just trying to replace my kink fork cap bolt. Any quick tips?? Mainly just loosen the two side bolts then switch cap and tighten everything back up or not quite that easy. Thanks

I’ve only worked on 80s/90s bikes …. And I undid the headset to raise it … but obviously this design won’t allow me to . Can I confirm the only way I can raise the stem would be to get longer forks ?? Is that right ???

My stem I have 4 bolts and I’m using the right Allen wrench but the bolts won’t turn only the Allen key will help me

You need a bigger Allen key or it’s stripped

How do you unstick a stuck stem? I havent worked on a late 80s early 90s gt mach one bike in 30 yrs. Anyone? I undo the center long bolt, stem will not move.

Loosen the center bolt so it sticks up an inch our so. The hit it down with a hammer. This will Loosen the wedge at the bottom

I have an old school gt performer either 80s or 90s and what was messing me up was the forks were to big so I got some old school dyno forks and everything works better (smother steering) and it doesn’t get stuck no more (but idk if it’ll work for urs)
