If you don't have a wet vac just stick a spray trigger and straw from an old cleaning bottle into the pipe to get the water out.

I'm not sure,but I think in the Netherlands 🇳🇱 we work in a different way. I have never seen a stopcock in my house before. My hubby made me for outside a tap,for the garden, and he used a stopcock for that,but it was extra made, not usually in the houses.

When I had a water meter fitted the water board plumber told me that the ball valve I had fitted after the original stop tap was illegal! He told me it was because of the instant shutoff causing shockwaves upstream and causing their knackered mains to split. He didnt know that I have been a pipe fitter for 50 yrs and told him it couldn’t happen unless water was flowing. I fitted a ball valve because they are far superior in operation to those crap stop taps that are fitted which always seize up eventually. Anyway most taps are instant shutoff so according to his theory they would cause shockwaves and actually do when you turn your taps off.

Having a stopcock under a bath, is that really a good idea? Can imagine the panic in a flood trying to remove the bath panel to access it.

The want it out of sight. There’s one right outside and isolators everywhere.
