Perfect perfect perfect! I have a HP Pavilion 15-eg1053cl, ProdID 4S171UA#ABA. This is the video for it. I had to change out my memory modules, and this guided me perfectly. One hint when removing the base enclosure: In addition to the screws mentioned in the video, there are thin plastic "knobs" about every two inches that are attaching the base enclosure to the laptop. They are on the side next to the "hing" of your laptop. You will need to work your tool under them to "pop" them off. As you first start to work and pull up the enclosure a bit, you will see these tiny plastic knobs. I recommend using a plastic tool to do all this work, so you don't scratch anything. I think removing the enclosure is the most intimidating part for a newbie like me. We don't want to break anything. Once I understood the pressure needed to remove it, everything else was easy.

I have a HP 15-eg0025nr laptop with a Mediatek MT7921 WiFi 6 WLAN card. I would like to eventually upgrade it to WiFi 6E (probably after the warranty expires), but it's unclear if HP still uses "whitelist" restrictions to limit WLAN card upgrades on this model. (Reportedly some models do, but others don't.) Mediatek makes a WiFi 6E variant of this chip; Intel also has a WiFi 6E upgrade to the chip in its WiFi 6 card on the online parts list. Reportedly, most 5 GHz WiFi antennas will also work well with WiFi 6E's new 6 GHz band. Does this model have a whitelist restriction that would prevent eventually replacing my WiFi 6 card with a WiFi 6E card, or other future WiFi upgrade?

@@HPSupport we closed the laptop lid and cracked the screen. I purchased a new one and installed it. It doesn’t work and neither does the old one. In both cases, I had the display ribbon connected upside down. Would that have caused the the screen to break? I can still get video out of the HDMI and use the computer with an external display, but would like to figure out why the video isn’t on the laptop screen.

+Rose R. Solution one- download (speccy) It'll tell you your motherboard name, google it to check if it has a graphics card slot that is welded in place or is one that can be changed. If yes then go onto crucial.co.uk it should help to tell you what graphics card you're best upgrading to or if you know your stuff then get whichever you like. solution two - if your card is soldered into place then just buy a new one. Remember if you're going to open up your laptop chances are your warranty will be void.

Versions of this laptop using Iris Xe graphics have only one fan. The versions with discrete graphics cards have 2 fans.
