Thank you so much. I have had to do that with my 36y severely disabled daughter a couple of times lately, and I felt like I was being so invasive, yet it needed to be done. The only reason it came about was, I was trying to insert a suppository, and hit clay, so I started pulling it out. It really helps to hear someone give guidance on this type of situation. It helps reassure people and give them the education they need. If an impaction is untreated, it could lead to a ruptured intestine, sepsis, and death. You've done a huge service to anyone who needs this, and finds this show. Most caregivers need to know they are doing what needs to be done. 💖

Thanks... This method actually worked, we took my mom to the ER and all they gave her was an enema and laxative and was going to send her home. We told them about this method and they were able to get all of the stool out and she finally felt better and was in no pain.

Omg thank u so much. Literally cannot thank u enough. I was struggling with hard poop (fecal impaction) and it hurt to even move or walk. There was a big ball of hardened poop which just wouldnt come out. I needed to apply extreme pressure in order for it to even move, and then 2x of that to get it out. I just couldnt do it. Especially since i had taken 6 toilet trips and just ended up crying with no result. I took 2 different laxatives, 2 doses each. 4. I ended up having an asthma attack and it felt like i was gonna die. Finally, i decided to take matters into my hands. Took coconut oil (coconut oil suits me, i used it even during an yeast infection and it cured me, no meds) applied some of it on my index and middle finger and went for the scoop. After a few minutes, all the hard stuff was all out. At last, finally i pooped. Now i feel really nice. The relief was alot.

As far as i know i don’t think it can case UTI’s but check with your Physician or if you’re in hospital then a nurse can explain the whole process to you and things to be aware of in your case. but you need to wash the area very well before and after make sure if someone is a parent they can wash and wipe away any stool if you’re especially worried you can also cover the vaginal area with a period pad. Washing with a bidet after like a portable one mothers use after birth is good make sure to clean all the anal all area after and wipe before wiping the vagina. Remember new different clothes and tissues for each area. Best of luck as always consult your Gp (or nurse in hospital don’t trust the internet)

How do you get an enema in your butt when the stool is at the exit holding it open but won't move? Doesn't seem like there would be any room for a nozzle of some type. Just spent 3hrs stuck like that and finally passed the monster. Feeling like I've been assaulted in the hour since I dropped it.

Zach, I find compacted stool a serious subject, when others think it's taboo or funny. Elvis died on the toilet due to pain killer abuse, and not drinking enough water. Ive had to do this to myself due to medications that I am on, combined with neing sick for days and not drinking any water. Get a disposable glove on your writing hand, and bear down (remember to breath!) and see if you can reach a finger in there to scoup it out bit by bit. You can try to break any plugs up by swirling your finger, grunt then try pulling some out with your finger. Use your bare hand if you have to. Relief is only 5 minutes away because most of the time not much needs scouped out. The stool gets softer beyong the plug, and so you'll be able to bear down the rest of it out. Remember to breath. Learn how to hold after bearing down so you dont lose momentum everytime you take a breath.

I honestly thought I was going to die cos that's how it was my heat was beating so fast I was hot and sweating. My mum died with a blocked bowel ad when she vomited the stink was terrible and I knew it was and I had started to vomit. Blacked out twice and that's what made,me go to hospital. To anyone who suffers from impacted poop don't feel ashamed to go hospital do something. My best friend was suffering this and she only went once to the hospital. She said it was so painful. It is I was screaming. She decided to stop eating af take painkillers her doctor gave. Long story short she got stag 4 cancer and died to my utter dismay. I really thought I'd done good deed for persuading her, may she RIP.

Hate to say this but i highly recommend it if you are ever in severe need to poop 💩. You should try doing it at home yourself. You can even squat over a puppy pad or put down a large mixing bowl 🥣 and if you are doing this on yourself use some sort of oil and a glove on your hand ✋️. You can try doing the extraction uder or over (like the way you wipe) some people may not be able to reach from the back. This is a real thing and it's very scary when you can't get it out but this will work for a lot of ppl. I recommend walking running and eating fruits and vegetables bc that makes a huge difference.

Another you can do I had to do it 2 times again it was hard as rock and I was in pain. And couldn't get it out. I went to pharmacy. Laid on bathroom floor and used the enema not ever 5 min later I was on toilet and it all came out and didn't hurt at all. So I found enema to be fast quick and not painful and no mess I went to toilet right after and it was over. I know ppl who would go to hospital and they will charge 500.00. I know what to do now hasn't happened in 2 years .

@@rosieskye2004 Only by forcing myself to sit down on loo & forcing it out like having a baby- against all advice. I tried everything doctors say, nothing worked. Enema, hand removal with finger (BAD idea- damages insides & stops u being able to push the rest out as it needs to be hanging out in order for the rest to come out- 25cm of it)… suppositories, lots of water, tried different types of laxatives, prune juice- nothing worked- it all just sent water around the impaction without moving it & caused even more pain. I had to sit and push in the end like having a baby (I watched a lady giving birth on tv and thought I’m gonna do the same!) - That resolved it !… 25cm x 7cm came out. but I was then hurting & felt damaged internally Also felt like half of it remained inside stuck . I then went on a strict beef only diet for 2 weeks (beef ribeye water salt every day only nothing else no carbs no fibre, and plenty of fat - beef bone broth) & gave birth again after 1-2 weeks… that resolved & healed the rest! Caveman style. I did this after listening to alternative doctors who insist mainstream doctors are wrong (well I tried both! The alternative docs advice worked :/ to my surprise ) Dr berry, and other doctors (they all say fibre is bad and that mainstream docs have it wrong)… so since I tried doing what mainstream docs advised first and it didn’t work, I thought what the heck…I’ll try it. It worked… zero fibre (beef & high fat ONLY). I only reached this point of trying these things after literally everything else failed. Doctors & hospitals & nurses were all unhelpful. I think they probably wanted to operate (even more damage- thank goodness I avoided it in the end!). but this whole thing was not a 2 hour ordeal like others experience- it was 2-3 weeks for me, because I tried all mainstream advice for ages first & nothing worked. My advice is to never let yourself get into this position in first place. If you change your diet dramatically from healthy to including lots of processed food & cakes then make sure to drink prune juice with it, to avoid this happening. Once the gut gets used to healthy foods it reduces its ability to move processed food through the gut. Oh and look up “Dr Berry fibre is bad” & Dr Mason fibre study on KZbin. They sound insane but their advice seems to work Hope this helps someone else

I was plugged hard as Rock I could push some put but it was so painful I couldn't do it. I got gloves on and no must how disgusting is was I sat on toilet pushed and pulled out pieces. And it took a while but it wasn't painful if anything i was feeling better. I got to the end pushed and rest came out. Yea sound bad. But bite the bullet you sure don't want to go to hospital do not I repeat take a laxative you will have diareahh for 2 days straight. Your choice

Wait I thought only nurses remove stool this way. There are many veins in the anus that you can rupture or damage. Also you can cause a patient to bleed from this if not done correctly. So CNA/GNA can do this type of procedure on a patient.

Yea, it's not recommended to do at home but sometimes you have to. I was so constipated last week that I could hardly walk. I wouldn't have been able to drive to the ER so I broke up my own stool and it helped. It may not be recommended but sometimes you have to do what you have to do
