I just rebuilt my Sr20det I took several days cleaning those pipes with sandpaper and even then there was still some rust left over, so I got a rust removing jelly, and that cleaned it up, *(took a few applications to remove) mine was a little more rusted than yours. After than I prepped and painted it with silver engine enamel and a few coats of clear coat that I had left over. Duplicolor that works good enough its like 7 bucks for one can of each. A dremmel with a steel polishing wheel would work too if the rust isn't too heavy.

Damnnn dude, you went to work on it haha. I’m probably gonna just sand it down a bit before it goes back on since it’s not visible.

Yo how do u fix those exhaust leaks from cylinder 1,2,4? Do u know why that happened?? This is a great video
@kriswyche2 жыл бұрын
Yup, I used a super cheap ebay paper gasket. I’ve upgraded to a MLS gasket and haven’t had any issues. Thank you btw 🙌🏽
@kriswyche2 жыл бұрын
ALSO, make sure you use a green scotch brite pad and some wd-40 and rub down the exhaust ports on the block and manifold where they connect. Left over gasket and residue will cause a poor seal !!
@JV-fu8br2 жыл бұрын
@@kriswyche so that’s how u fix it ? Do I need to worry about anything on the sr20det head ? I just though mine leaks because of some seals but I got no idea where those seals may be lol .
@kriswyche2 жыл бұрын
@@JV-fu8br The main spots the head can leak are the intake and exhaust manifold gaskets, the valve cover gasket, and the head gasket. If you don’t see or hear any visible leaks you shouldn’t worry. If you end up taking off the manifolds or removing the head for some reason then you’ll want to replace them.

@@kriswyche thanks for your answers. So basically I remove my turbo & turbo manifold only to find quit abit of oil like a lot of fresh oil so I freak out .. I also removed the air intake manifold & that side looks clean dry . So I’m confused . U got ig ?

Have link sr20det s13 repair manual?
@kriswyche2 жыл бұрын
I sure do, I linked it below. The s14 sr20 is practically the exact same so we just use the English version for the s14 Sr20det. tech.240sxone.com/fsm/
