What you found on your first description of what Animal Farm is about, is probably the worst, most absurd description in the history of literary views. The book was written as a critique of Russia’s Totalitarian , Communist regime, by George Orwell, when he had travelled to Russia in the 1930’s and witnessed the slaughter of millions by Stalin through collectivisation and the resulting starvation. The book was incredibly impactful as Orwell until this point had been an avid Socialist. Ultimately the pigs , Snowball and Bonaparte take over the farm via a revolution that overthrows the farmer. Instead of this leading to the anticipated utopia, it leads to the pigs simply replacing the role of the farmer and the world famous line ‘All Animals are Created Equal, but Some are More Equal Than Others’. It is without doubt one of the most famous books in English Literature. It’s worth a read, it’s only like a 180 pages long.

The acoustic version of this song is also worth checking out. It’s a whole other level of sinister … but just Ren and an acoustic guitar on a city bus. His creativity is top tier! This video was not only inspired by Orwell’s Animal Farm, but a lot of Kubrick films. His gangster style is very Clockwork Orange, but you can also see elements of The Shining, Witches of Eastwick, Willy Wonka, and more. And what makes these one take videos even crazier is the fact that there was barely any budget!

It brings you into this dark tribal chaotic world. I loved playing about with the sonics of this one in the production".

Ren is my story almost to a tee. I have lyme, was misdiagnosed, given so many wrong meds I nearly died over and over. It’s been pure hell to live with over 30 yrs and was told it didn’t even exist as a true illness. I was ashamed to tell ppl bc ppl didn’t believe. I lost my career and still fighting autoimmunity from it and bedridden but everything ren says is pure truth!!!! He’s real bc I’ve lived it and still living it. But It’s both a blessing and a curse. Ren inspired me to speak my truth and to do my digital art even in bed. I speak out on soc media about the illness. Before Ren I just kept it in and suffered alone.

@@lisadavenport2390 Genuinely the same. I got the positive test back for it around 3 months ago and the only reason I asked for it was from hearing our deity leader's symptoms. My body drastically changed. Because the mental living, breathing, parasite, pun intended. Hammering the puns, but are the puns nailing? Groove if you let it? Don't pass the sugar because I'm Lyme disease. Anyways, I've had to change my whole method of eating as well and working out doing a thousand sit ups a week. I can't stand vegetables, but unfortunately I need the grool. If I eat anything like cereal, or just anything overly processed, like if I eat fast food, I'm so unbelievably sensitive to the fatigue and my skin, especially my face gets blisters and cysts and my skin everywhere starts dying and shedding, to the point that it sends me into a tailspin of depression because I lose all my confidence, I'm codependent and need to be with someone to make me have a reason to do better on life. I can't do it by myself and I'm extremely single atm. Normally I'm confident but my last relationship was horribly verbally abusive. Anytime I needed space I got verbally diminished in efforts to break me down so her misery had quality company, and I wish I defended myself from the alcohol barrage of assaults I received. I finally left when she was black out and while I was sleeping, she brought a guy into my house, her name but she refused a job in 3 years. Anyways she got my old baseball metal bat and knocked my 4 front top and bottom teeth out. Then my ex fiance before her took her own life because her daughter got killed in a foster home. Needless to say, with the Lyme disease and excessive neurotic worry I still messed up my confidence. I thought I was going to end my own, I still struggle, but that song, you know which song, the one with exclamation point in the title, I listened to it and it snapped me out of it, because I know my ex fiance would want me to carry on and be happy, but when he says late like a jerk, it's the trigger to take my self loathing and think about her instead of me. Omg I'm not reading all that either, I swear anytime I'm in a ren reaction I write fifty novels and three songs.

The rap was inspired by the idea that human characteristics are often described in words about animals. e,g He's a beast. he wolfed it down, what a bitch, manners of a pig and yet the worst animal of all is the human (...who may profess to be kind to animals but is objectively the most cruel). This idea which explains most of the lyric, was extended to create imagery for the video, drawing from other 'animal imagery in literature and art'. (Self references to Murderer, but also look carefully at the miniature head in a cage which is Ren). Other imagery draws on The Shining, Willy Wonka, Alice in Wonderland, as well as Eyes Wide Shut, Clockwork Orange and Animal Farm, and many reactors also caught the painting; 'Dogs playing poker' (by CM Coolidge). Humans caused BSE; a horrific disease with potential to kill humans (and will have been considered as a possible diagnosis for Ren's illness). The source pathology was traced to infected animal protein being used as livestock feed for herbivores ('Mad Cow Disease' => Creutzveld-Jakob disease). It's possible that Animal Farm is also the reason for Ren's recurring pig motif. On Manor Farm, the pigs take charge claiming to be 'socialists, writing their manifesto on the wall of the barn, ' but then the laws change as they turn slowly into dictators. In the Reniverse, whilst the masses are blindfolded and 'hoodwinked' into participating in the Money Game, the pigs are corruptible, and have no moral compass. Just unbounded greed and self interest.

In Animal Farm pigs end up taking over the cruel farmers’ role once they tried to set up a utopia with an equal society because that pretty much always happens no matter who the players are throughout history. 💜

We saw a real-life example of this during the "Occupy Wallstreet" protests in the US. It started as a "stick it to the man" type of protest. But as the weeks went on, the protesters started dividing themselves into different groups. Some groups started to look down on other groups, started badmouthing them and stopped hanging out with them, and they literally turned into the system they were protesting.

You need to read the book itself, not the first line of a synopsis. What you read gave you half an idea what the book is about, and therefore half the meaning is still obscured to you. Hard for you to understand what Ren is referencing without a full understanding of what the book messages. (Bearing in mind that songs have different meanings to different people of course!) This book used to be taught in schools all over the world. It is a shame that is no longer the case, and its true message has been lost and consequently, the world has ended up where it currently is. Hopefully, Ren will be able to inspire the curiosity in some people to go and actually read the book in its entirety, and not just the first line of a synopsis, to understand how we need to move forward as a society!
