This is funny. But, we love our Ren Boi! He transcends age. And for us older folk, we are jaded and not easily impressed. Yet, we have been able to relate to his music, and he stands out from anyone else we have seen. Those of us with chronic health issues feel like someone is eloquently and creatively speaking up for how we have felt for so long. So, it makes sense why we see these older people sharing their own experiences. It's nice to have a voice.

My guide friend said I do it the other way around than most starters. He gave me a parlour guitar, its now well out of tune. And I haven't a clue how to tune it up. Me hands are killing me too. No this is fully live, he is mic’d up on his T-shirt and on a decent set of monitors you can hear a slight low end rumble of the bus and even on AirPods you can hear the bus. No trickery or editing.

I’ve been trying to figure out why I am so obsessed with Ren. I haven’t felt like that since I was a young teenager in the 70s. I think it’s because his music is so raw. It’s real. I am an old man, a music fan my whole life, but never have I seen or experienced such an incredible connection between an artist and their fans. Leaving aside your awe-inspiring artistry; your honesty, integrity and almost brutal intelligence have already left an indelible mark upon me, many of my friends/family, and , clearly, MILLIONS of others. I’m not into rap. But I can listen to Ren all day long. What a phenomenal talent. So amazing what he can do with just a guitar. You forget there isn’t a band or big production going on.
