You’re a very nice man, seeing your reaction to REN confirms my view. He is, assuredly, an awesome human being, he’s suffered so much yet, conversely, he’s so gifted it’s frightening. He deserves all the success that he receives, whether financial or in abundant love. I hope your channel continues to grow & that you also grow in prosperity & happiness. Love from Annie, in Cornwall, UK🙂🌸

Ren's a hell of an artist, isn't he? I pretty much gave up on the idea that a new artist would ever affect me the way the music of my youth did. And that's understandable, right? When you're younger everything is new. You're full of passion and expectation and the world doesn't weigh as much. You haven't got jaded and life -- for most of us anyway -- hasn't yet forced you to grow that thick layer of cynicism. Last time I heard a new record that moved me to tears was Bowie's final album in 2016. And while that music was new, Bowie hardly was! And then Ren came along. He's a "top 10" artist for me now -- genuinely never thought I'd encounter one of them again. Gives an old dude a little bit of faith.

I liked your thoughts on the RenEffect in your life. Your description of youth was poetic and bittersweet. Another satisfied cult, er, book club member !! ☺

It's so beautiful that, as others have said, Ren didn't take the opportunity of getting 1 million followers to make a celebration video, be loud & woo hoo!! No, he took the opportunity to thank everyone who helped him, to focus on those who are still in pain, like he was, and try to give them some hope & tell them they're seen & important to the community. He shared how going through such pain as he did, where he absolutely thought he may not survive, has allowed him to create such beloved art & art that helps himself & others heal. That's a real person, right there, not some caricature of a musician celebrating a big success! It's why so many people love him. Thanks for watching this with us!

I don't think reactors piggy back off anyone's work. I pick the reactors I like to watch because of something THEY bring to the table not just the music they pick.

Thank you. This is such an important video to understand not only Ren but why the RENegades love him so dearly. He truly lives by the saying “a rising tide lifts all ships” and just wants to inspire positive change in the world. And while he believes it’s his responsibility with the platform and following he has built, I think we would all understand if he didn’t put so much heart and effort into anything beyond his art cause he definitely has enough to deal with. But despite all his personal struggles, here he is trying to project love outwards to all of us. A beautiful soul and a big heart ❤

I have been blown away, I have laughed and cried with this amazing young man that I have never met. I am so grateful for all of it. it seems the longer you experience his music, a healing seems to take place. Ren not only evokes emotions withing in you, but if you send out the love - positive vibes- he reflects that right back at you. but it also somehow becomes a collective... everyone that sends that love to Ren - what he sends back out and we receive is from all of the RENegades. if we ever get to see Ren live, I believe we will feel that positive force miles before arriving....I wouldn't be surprised if the positive power has all of us floating an inch off the ground on our way into the show! all the best to you! 🌸🎶🙏🎶🌸

Also, Ren lets people monetize his videos! I’ve seen him commenting saying if you get a copyright strike just appeal it and it’ll go thru! Part of his spreading the love! ❤

@Psyco913Ай бұрын
@@oldmanmetaldude Like he said in the video (a rising tide raises all ships), Ren believes he has a symbiotic relationship with the reactor community. The money that monetized reactors make off of reacting to his videos is not money that he would have gotten anyway, so he's not losing anything. In fact, even the smaller reactors are bound to have viewers in their audience who will find Ren through their reactions, so supporting reactors only serves to benefit him. The only reason there is such a stigma against reactors is that most of the bigger artists on this platform are signed (I'm sure you are aware by now that Ren is independent), so it's not the artists themselves that are going after reactors, but their labels. The labels have a much more parasitic view of the reactor community and want to have complete control over how their artists are represented.

One thing I really appreciate about Ren is how he lends his success and voice to others and, like you, he is an inveterate musical forager and he likes to share his bounty, ie “look/listen to what I think is phenomenal”. Dirt Miller is one of the artists he turn his light on last year and I’d love to catch your reaction to his song “Kansas City”. I think you’ll see why Ren lifted this piece up. And the effect of that on Dirt Miller and his career and path in music has been remarkable. Keep sharing and keep the circle growing. Appreciate you!

I discovered music reactors during the Pandemic and wow I was introduced to so many artists globally that I would not have heard without this platform. The reactors have spread music artists outside the mainstream and in a way, created fan group names such as the Dears and the Renegades who support each other as artists. GREAT work you all do!
@oldmanmetaldudeАй бұрын
Thank you so much for your comment! started my channel to be introduced to artists outside of my usual exposure and Ren was recommended to me early on and my life is much better for it! I have never understood Artist who dismiss reactors and what we do, as we are basically independent music reviewers. Yes music reactors would not exist without musicians, but reaction videos can get the music more exposure for free. And trust me, we Musicians love free exposure haha

It’s not piggy backing - it’s doing what the BBC was set up for - educating, informing and entertaining - any artist with nouse should love that. And why not make a dollar - journos. DJs and A&R make money doing the exact same. 😎👍
@oldmanmetaldude2 ай бұрын
The difference is all in the legalities. Journalists obtain permission to use sections of songs, A&R involves contracts to promote artists etc. I'll be the first to put my hand up and admit that I do what I do unsolicited and I respect the artist rights to their creation. KZbin has strict copyright rule which I agreed to when I became part of the partner program. If people want to help me with monetisation, I'd ask that they go watch the videos on my channel of my band as those im happy to accept haha

Beautiful reaction! ❤️ Well, if you wanted positivity today, you got it! Much of Ren's work can be dark, but I think that's his way of expressing the bitterness he speaks of here and letting it go. Ren definitely has positive and uplifting music, too. Fun, cheeky stuff that makes you laugh. You just never know what you're going to get when you start a new Ren song! A fun one that's in homage to The Beastie Boys old school style is, "What You Want." Give it a listen!
