I'm 60 and have loved music all my life but NEVER liked more that 30% of ANY artist's catalog, and here I like nearly all of Ren's songs and I keep hearing others say the same. As far as I can see there's only one explanation... Ren has made a deal with Lucifer, and I'm 100% for the result.

The imperfections in Rens voice gives it something maybe soul, If you are just starting to hear Ren , all I can say is he has 209 songs on u tube and I have not found any I have not liked some are ? I can not explain it you will have to make your own judgment. I would listen to some of his older lyrical videos and react to his tales and music videos.. You can also listen to his 1 million subscriber thank you speech, that will give you a insight to the man he is !! Welcome and spread the REN he deserves as much exposure as we can give him !! just a fan or Renegade !!

Sick Boi was released right after Hi Ren. All the things he wished he said to the doctors who misdiagnosed him and told him all the pain, fatigue and inability to eat was all in his head. They gave him drugs that made him worse and yhe pain pushed him into psychosis. After 7 years diagnosed with Lyme disease which by then had ravaged his brain, body and immune system. He will be dealing with this for the rest of his life, but music has been his therapy and he speaks for the chronically ill ,both mentally and physically . A powerful icing on the Ren-cake if you will 😅 He is a relatable voice for everyone dancing in the darkness as he eloquently, with all the authenticity of someone who is painfully familiar with it, lets us know that we are not alone and inspires us to keep dancing. And in doing so, Ren has literally saved lives with his art. I trust that other RENegades will fill you in on his backstory and probably recommend Sick Boi for insight into his frustrations from being misdiagnosed for years. It’s an older song from before Ren was finally correctly diagnosed with Lyme disease and was written after a breakdown following multiple emergency trips to the hospital. Damn on the point with the B. Marley ref: he did covers w/ the band Big Push. I like how great a listener you are: you were following the rhythm w/ your head all the time. You seem to be very knowledgeable and quite sensitive, so I'd like to hear more detailed comments from you. Now, there may be a perfect order to discover Ren's catalog and take one slap in the face after the other. All I can say is that my favorite song of his is Money Game Part 2. All the best!

Welcome to the RENegades! Ren is music. He was misdiagnosed at age 17, he really had Lyme disease but was diagnosed with Bipolar. All the time he was dealing with an illness he never had the one he did have wreaked havoc on his mind and body. Gave him some brain damage. He spent 10 years like this and now finally thankfully is getting treatment in Canada for his lyme disease. He lost his best friend to suicide. Dude has been though a lot. I can’t think of a more creative artist making music right more than Ren. I’m not a massive long time super fan like a lot claim to be, but just from what I’ve heard from him, there’s nothing or no one else, like him. I’m a fan of what he’s doing and who he seems to be as a dude. I hope he gets healthy and has a long career as long as he’s able to keep doing his thing his way, because if execs change it, it won’t be the same. But even though I don’t know a lot about him, he doesn’t strike me as a sell out, and has the vision to see himself do it on his own, which is better monetarily anyway. So, I wish him all the luck, and will always watch out for anything new from him.

So: they only had time to do 4 takes on this (as they weren't granted for more time in that place) with those three cameras and two mics (one for singing, one for guitar). - And Ren was devasted: we didn't get it! But as he started to mix and produce, he noticed: No, we *did* get it.. There was one of those 4 that made it to a release. Hi'yal, New to your channel. Hi Ren , Was MASTERFUL ! I'd even consider it ART. I have never seen anyone Portray a vision of mental illness/ split personality that leaves you with a complete understanding of what is going on inside the mind. One has to wonder how frustrating it must be for the individuals who have these illnesses to explain this experience? Not only to Doctor's But the Judicial System , & Society in General. They are mocked or called crazy . Or in court they are Not believed it all. I can't credit this man enough. I hope everybody watches "HI Ren" Friends, Family, Doctor's, Judge's, Prosecutors & Defense Attorneys, More importantly ,Our EDUCATORS. The accent is quite easy to get used to - just remember that the last consonants are usually not pronounced - for example "does await" will sound like "does away" ...😍

Thx for subbing 🙏 I know what you mean, but pausing the music is not my style. I hate it. I am a musician and for me the flow of a song is really important. My opinion is: music is no steak that you cut in little pieces to swallow it. 😉 But that’s just my personal opinion and style. I get your point, the way I do it has clearly pros and cons. But therefore I always listen to the songs afterwards one more time again, to see if I missed something. But for my reactions I prefer the live feeling. No cuts no pauses. 🤘❤️👍

By now I'm sure you've read Ren's back story of medical malpractice that has left his physical & mental health in shambles, maybe for life The symbolism in this performance shows his anger at the medical profession, starting with the Pig/Butcher, probably Ren's opinion of doctors and therapists the discordant guitar chords and vocals are intentional, revealing the inner chaos he feels, as do the wildly blinking lights ................

Oh, that's a new angle i hadn't thought of. I always thought it was his inner critic, who demands, blames and .. He says it himself (the critic) ": ain't it good, that i'm here to protect you from the too big hopes and thus, disappointments (that you can't hadle, but go to psychosis - as you already once have been through). I protect you from that. And in a way he does. So it has (as they always do have) a good cause .. to protect. But. He also doesn't give you space to live, relax, enjoy life, let loose, play, be exited and happy... And the other voice is also a bit... like the other far end of the spectrum - it tries to protect you from the critic, and says you're perfect. And in a way, it echoes the message of the other voice and concurs: you can't handle the darkness, it IS too bad for you to take, you cannot take it!!! But... what if you can? What if you won't get destroyed. What if you have the strenght and recilience and tools to handle it all? And so - the resolvement of this all isn't the win of either of those over the other (it wasn't a battle for me to win) - but a way to make these co operate, go closer to each other, come away from the far ends of the spectrum, to something in between. Where is space to relax, soften, and the going from opposite ends to the others for ever (pendulum, eternally swaying from light to dark - and the more intensly the light shone, the darker the shadow it casts - that)... stops. And you learn to relax. You learn to soften. And the dance got easier. But that takes a lot of courage. As both of them scare you about the consequences - they tell you there's a disaster looming if you go there - and that they try to protect you from that - which you won't be able to handle. So they have a good cause. But. When you have the courage (and sometimes it only happens as it gets impossible to go on like that. You have no other option than to stop). But when you do, you notice: i didn't have to do that. Nothing explodes, if i stop and relax. It gets easier. I have space to rest. Play. Enjoy. And if smtg happens (as there always happens in life), i can take it. I'll handle it. I won't get destoyed. It feels bad for a while, but that's just how it (life) goes (sometimes). You don't have to solve it. It's just how life is. And it (life) is quite good. As imperfect as it is, it's okay. And i love the life. As imperfect and beautiful - the way it is. I can just let it happen, and take it as it comes. That IS life, living. Or, Living. ❤

And there was some common things about the inner demons included (they tend to have good cause but harsh and bad means to do it). I didn't say anything about where they (demons) came from - but usually/commonly they are something that was said or otherwice expressed to a person - multiple times by somehow important people or in particularly vulnerable state/situation. What all is included in Ren's case only he himself knows - or is able to find out. Not me, not you, or anybody else. So the scentences like "basicly your mind is making you sick" - - if someone really said those words to him (and didn't mean you as a passive form, but "you, Ren"), i tend to think it's at least very near to psychological violence. Even though the sayer may not have ment it that way, but as a way to help - to tell an option how the things might happen. Helpers are also human beings, and thus not all-knowing or able, but imperfect and with limited knowledge. Many have vast knowledge and understanding. But (we) all (humans) have a limit (in what we know, can, understand). So i tend to assume they didn't leave things untold or misdiagnose him on purpose. But, more propably just didn't know (anything) about Lyme's disease. And thus couldn't even think about it as an option. It's sad. It's a tragedy. And of course it causes anger. But that's just how it is - most propably happened because human errors and limitations. It doesn't mean it's how it should be, or that you (passive) shouldn't try and change that. Of course we should. For Ren it's already at his past. And that we cannot change. But maybe his story will teach something to helpers also. And to all of us. To take the position of not-knowing. Really understand that's always how it is - and we should understand it. Understand how little we know, not try and pretend /assume knowing smtg we don't know.

Ren went years misdiagnosed with depression bi polar chronic fatigue syndrome he had recording deal with Sony in 2010 why working on his album he got sick and couldn't finish it so they parted ways he move back to Wales he would become bedridden for up 23 hours a day he had chronic pain all over his body running fever the meds they had him on caused him to have psychosis he got PTSD too he has had 2 stem cell transplants done it would take years before he would get right diagnosis he has Lyme disease he went so long misdiagnosed that has Brain damage Organ damage Joint damage he in Canada right now getting treatment he has to have IV 5 days a week they put this thing on his head to open path ways in his brain he take hand full meds 2 times a day he also has ADHD too Ren play guitar bass drum Piano produces his own music mixes his own beats beatboxes sings and can rap he cand o any Gener of music he was in band called the big push they do busking live street performance they do covers but also have Original music too ren had number 1 album in UK last year with Sick Boi

Blind optimism vs blind pessimism, at first, but then a braggart appears to throw a fit. Then as he backs off the ledge of self absorbed justification and resolves the end of song as a whole person. It's all cleverly disguised to make people with limited knowledge of mental illness to think of those things much like a clever crime drama keeps the audience thinking they are qualified to solve crimes. It's quite manipulative song writing. Good stuff.
