The only "connection" this has to the diss battle is that it came out and it was referenced by dotta. Essentially the battle goes like this. Knox dropped killshot. Dotta took there to be a diss at him but knox had no idea who he was. Ren saw him going off about wanting to battle some big names and he poked the bear to get him. They agreed to do a battle, Ren only asked that he wait tell after this song came out as it was already set to release. So does waited so it didn't draw attention away from it. Then dotta dropped his Kingdom come diss and referenced this song name and a couple others. Then knox finally aware of the battle and that dotta tossed shots at knox again, he spotted his Stan remix and then 24 hours later the patiently waiting track. Dotta didn't reply, eventually Ren was able to respond to dotta. That really ended it. But dotta did finally respond to knox with 2 or 3 tracks back, but knox was done with the whole thing at that point.

I remember that Ren and Dotta agreed on the diss track format and Ren had posted about the situation but Murderer was already scheduled for release at that point, so.e reactors were saying to Blame Dotta that Ren was abducting people and stuff, that this was a warning but it wasn't. It was pretty ironic, the timing of this songs release. It does kind of sound like a warning shot. It would sound even more like that if there was no context about the beef and the battle we were all waiting on. Honestly, if this had been a beef between mainstream artists that don't have a lot of contact with their fanbases, there would have been a lot of speculation about every move Dotta, Ren , or made.

Not sure why you were told this was part of the whole knoxdottaren thing, but I don’t care cos Murderer is an absolute banger I knew you would love. The acoustic version it’s a whole other vibe, but just as good. Possibly the confusion came because Dotta and Ren agreed to battle, but Ren said he couldn’t do it that week because Murderer was being released and he had to use his time and energy to promote it. I think in release sequence the next in the battle would be Dotta - Kingdom Come, and then almost seconds after that dropped, Knox dropped was Stan, followed 24hrs later by Patiently Waiting THEN Ren - Dumb King Come 🥊🥊🔔

Yes, I was confused at first by hearing it as part of the diss, but the reference to Murderer is tangentially involved. The whole diss debacle happened while Ren was busy dropping tracks for the upcoming Sick Boi album release and Murderer was one of those tracks. Exciting times! With a new Ren drop happening so frequently that we could hardly °breathe° and Ren's livestreams were squeezed between video premiers and his daily clinic schedule and reactors scrambling to keep up; and then Dotta grabbing a piece of the action....and Knox swinging hard and debate about Ren diss tracking because it's not his lane or style. Totally a RIDE. I so wish you were there for the entire album release. I'll be able to bore aides in the nursing home retelling the story over and over; Ren Ren Ren Ren Ren Ren.

Ren released Murderer just after he agreed to do the Battle with Dotta and before either had released their diss. Some reactors assumed Ren wrote it for Dotta. But he did not, it was written years earlier by Ren. Dotta uses Murderer as an inspiration for his Diss. It was also Rens first full flex Rap track and so is loosely in the Battle realm of rap.

You wanna know how this fits in with the King Dotta saga? 06:16 It's right there in big bold red letters. This wasn't directed at King Dotta specifically but it highlights Ren's motivation. In the past Ren had stressed multiple times that he wants an arch nemesis to battle with. So when Dotta unsuspectingly stepped onto the scene Ren jumped at the chance and the rest is history.
