BTW, interesting anecdote about your given name: Samantha comes from a combination from Hebrew and Ancient Greek (Samael [pronounced Sahm-eh-el] {which actually comes from shem-el meaning name and God, separately or shama-el meaning to hear/God "God has heard"} and Anthos [pronounced ANN-thos] meaning Name of God/Word of God/Breath of God and Flower) so your name literally means Flower of the Word of God, because you read Hebrew and Ancient Greek Right to Left, not Left to Right. Anyways, this is a really straightforward song from Ren. It talks about his childhood, dealing with becoming addicted partly because of his parents getting divorced and having to deal with the aftermath of that and his own internal demons. However, this is MEANT to be an upbeat, positive, uplifting song. This is about how he TOOK his POWER BACK from his addiction, depression, and demons to become who he is today and it is one of his most positive songs. It's also a very catchy, "sticky" (sticky is an actual music industry term identifying a song that can be easily remembered and sung to OR its rhythm and beat alongside the melody 'sticks' to your brain), song. It would do VERY well on the radio, save for a censored radio edit because fuck the mainstream, yeah? The video production on this is literally just a Go Pro hung on the dash of a vehicle. Sam, one of his best friends and his best cinematographer, is driving the vehicle while Ren is just a passenger. Another all Ren song, meaning: written, produced, composed, arranged, and sung by Ren. Filmed on location in Brighton, England. This was made sometime around 2018 or 2017 I believe? Someone can verify me on this. I know it's Pre-COVID-19, for sure. This is one of my favorite Ren songs. I bounce to this when I get exercise done, doing chores around the house, or when I need to really focus. It. Is. Fire. Just gets me so pumped up and amped up and ready to take on ANYTHING. Permanently on my 'Workout' playlist. Whenever I really need a good pick me up, Power is what I put on. There are no deeper meanings to this one. Very straightforward, very simple, very obvious. A couple of double meaning multisyllabics thrown in here or there, but nothing so deep that it requires someone like Knox Hill or Cliff Beats or HeartSupport to dig deeper lol. Anyways, I would recommend checking out 'Humble' featuring Eden Nash and 'French Song' featuring Romain Axisa, one of his buddies from the Big Push and an equally amazing artist in his own right. Humble is an amazing track that just is SOOOO feel good and intensely meaningful while French Song is Romain in his delicious accent speaking full French to a groovy Jazz/Blues track that melts your heart. OOoohh and while we're at some feel good music, you definitely need to check out 'Bongo Bong' featuring the Big Push. It's an incredible double-linguistic track with gorgeous ukulele, guitar playing, and arousing harmonies. It's a cover of an amazing song from 1999 by Manu Chao, a French-Spaniard, which itself is actually a redesigned version of the 'King of Bongo Bong' by Black American trumpeter Roy Eldridge.
