Found Ren by chance a few weeks ago, and have been rinsing the album constantly since. I have an enormous amount of hip hop, mainly mid 90s to 2010s, and Sick Boi easily equals the best albums in my collection. Even if Ren had not released anything else, Wicked Ways would stand as testiment to his talent, it blows my mind it's that good. But the fact is that his whole album is solid, all killers no fillers. I could list dozens of well known hip hop albums that don't match the consistency of quality that Ren delivers. The fact that he plays guitar and piano and produces all the beats himself is just another wtf, so impressive. Amazing, new fan for life here.

I find the only music i enjoy these days are independent artist and it just so happens most tend to rap more than anything else. Tom Macdonald, Upchurch, Hi-Rez, Samson, Dax, etc. Ren is definitely not a sound ive ever really gotten into but his passion for the music is so apparent and infectious, and the lyrics are incredibly intelligent and deep, i can't help but fall in love with them. Then you add what an interesting, observant, inspiring young man he comes across as, and im hooked. Lol. Real music by real people about real issues. The way music was meant to be.
