There's a ballance. If you spend more time interrupting and chinwaging than the duration of the video itself that can be frustrating. I am not talking about a post video talking, that can be a long as a reactioneer desires. But if a reactir listens to 20 seconds of a song and spends 3 minutes talking and the cycle continues that hoes from very annoying to suspicious. It is impossible to appreciate a song from lots of small samples with long interruptions, that is not a thing and makes the reactir look less than honest. And bloody narcisistic too.

Thanks for pointing out Pau's drumming style. Being a former drummer myself, my ear is tuned to the percussion then the bass, etc. Also now in my advanced years, it is so wonderful to hear a drummer with such varied tools to pull from. To me she is a mix of Keith Moon, Gavin Harrison and Neil Peart. Drummers that didn't just keep time, but played the song. Of course Pau has the luxury of Ale keeping time so she can focus on playing and singing.

@@CarlD70 Fair enough. I first saw them on the Damage Inc tour when they opened for Ozzy, so "Enter Sandman" didn't exist yet. I don't hate on the Black album, but it did fall a little flat for me. Love the strings on this. The Warning raised the bar for rock groups performing with strings, this is how it should be done. I’ve seen so many bands over the years drag a whole orchestra along on tour just so they could do their best to drown them out. The sense of fullness that was added was like a wave washing over and coloring the song.

This was the song that introduced me to the warning - oh my gosh, the STRINGS! It’s funny you mention Pau’s interesting bass patterns, cause I just started trying to learn this song on the drums - and you’re absolutely right! She rarely uses the traditional “money beat”. It seems like she follows Ale’s bass line very close and it sounds amazing. I love it. As a fairly new drummer, Pau is so inspirational

I really like that little concertmaster (principal first violin) solo leading into the song. The music itself was composed by someone who really understands string writing. It was dissonant in parts, but not bombastic like when Metallica recorded it with the San Francisco SO. You're one of the few reviewers who have noticed that the riff at the end is played differently from the original, with Pau contributing to the melodic line, not just setting the beat. During one of the fanvids, I noticed that when the strings started to leave the stage Dany stopped the concertmaster and had them all come back out on stage so she could credit them. The strings themselves were placed quite prominently, the violins and violas on the steps to the drum riser and the cellos on the floor well forward facing the audience (which probably made it a bit more difficult for them, since they couldn't easily see any cues from the concertmaster). They've dropped it altogether from their set list (the only song they're now playing not from Error or KMF is Narcisista), and I won't be entirely surprised if it doesn't come back. I suspect that if they do bring back some older work (I hope they do) it will be some of the stalwarts from QoTMS and perhaps Survive or When I'm Alone. Oh, and I *do* appreciate pauses to point out interesting things. I like analytical reviews/reactions because it's a way to learn something. If I want to listen to it through, I know exactly how to do that.
@gregoryvlchek269Ай бұрын
As I commented for another's recent reaction video for Black Holes, prior to this show, Pau was conspicuously absent from several interviews, and people were wondering why, but Dany and Ale never addressed it. When the fan-cam videos first came out of the show and I saw that they had a string section, it hit me that, Pau may have been absent from those several interviews because she was helping to write and arrange the parts and score the charts for the strings. After all, due to her extensive formal training in classical piano etc. and stint at Berklee studying composition, we know that she can read music at a high level and more than likely write out charts as well (Early on I saw a home video showing a whiteboard with written music on it in 'The Warning Cave'). So, my point is that Pau may have played a substantial, integral part in composing the string arrangements we're hearing here as well. I don't think that it's too far-fetched to assume that. You did say that, in certain sections, the strings sound "Warningish".

I have seen a man's name mentioned in another video's comments that composed the string parts, I don't remember the name though. I would not be surprised if Pau worked with someone in the arrangement.

I'm sure its still there but can't really hear it in this. Or maybe she was even more under the weather than Pau. I've never noticed Dany playing that part with fingers before either. I wonder if it was to give room for all the extra instruments or if we just couldn't see before. Yeah, Pau and Ale are always so locked in especially that kick. Alessia Cara & The Warning did performed Enter Sandman live second night at The Troubadour (LA) during their Mayday US tour in 2022. Don't think both artist will perform this song live again. Since The Warning has dropped Enter Sandman from their setlist. To me. I get this *"Psycho"* vibe with the strings on Enter Sandman. Unlike the strings that accomplied *"Black Holes".* These strings added the nuisance of this nightmare of the lullaby. If only The Warning had more time & a larger budget. I'm not one to rail on Lars Ulrich, but I do like quite a few drummers over him, including Pau of course. Same with Kirk Hammett, solid player but not spectacular. I first saw Metallica when they were opening for Ozzy in April of 1986 while Cliff Burton was still with us. To me, he and James Hetfield were why Metallica are considered among the "founding four" of Thrash Metal. This was of course prior to the "Black album" and "Enter Sandman". The Warning's retake on the track has always been quite fitting, as the 2014 cover is what drew attention to the multi talented Villareal sisters as any fan already knows. I believe this will be one track that is canon to the setlist, perhaps as long as they are performing live.

Ken, I've been going through these Pepsi Center videos and for some songs, like Dust to Dust, Paulina's vocals have been switched to the Teatro vocals. There's actually a lot of this going on in the pepsi center videos. Even though she was sick, I enjoyed her original pepsi center vocals better. Do you think bands should replace entire stems like this or from a marketing perspective, it just has to be done?

From my experience singing live, I can tell you that there are some vocals on nights where everything else went great but you were sick or had a bad night, you just can't put it out that rough (It's embarrassing). Especially with a huge project that you put a lot of money and effort into. I won't ever go back to compare because, if they did replace some of the vocals, those fan-cams are never going to be watched again now that these are out.
