I don't know who Meg Squats is, but lean beef patty legit has an ED and body dysmorphia - both of which she's spoken about, and there is no way she's not taking steroid. I love these videos and I've done workouts like this so I know they don't build muscle, but I do have to point out that if you just hold your arms out for long enough, they will feel like they're going to fall off. You haven't gained anything but pain, but the pain is real. So to summarize: workout is bad, but it will still hurt.

As a woman who has trained hard consistently for the last 25 years. I rarely follow ANY womens training programs! They just dont use heavy enough weights or work hard enough (there are a very few women on utube who do (Body by Julia) is an exception). Even now as a personal trainer who looks to see whats new out there..i follow other channels such as Athlene X . Bottom line, most women are afraid of getting big..and i tell them, it’s impossible unless you spend hours everyday in the gym or use steroids your not going to look like a man. @@leighmeyers9870 to be fair, many people's vision of feminine is thin bordering on frail with little (if any) muscle definition, so many women are absolutely terrified of being "bulky / masculine / manly". There's little understanding of how unlikely that is or just how hard they would have to work to put on even 10 pounds of muscle. As a result there's a ready market for this type of fitness product where all that is required is to flail their arms (and maybe their legs) and call it a wrap.

I am learning a physiotherapy and I am a ciach for rhythmic gymnastics and acrobatics so I do believe that I have gained some expertise in training. First and foremost, yes those workouts are far from being the most effective and most of the shown exercises weren't targeting the muscles their meant to target according to what thse people. But I have to say that those exercises definitely did at least activate some muscles not the ones they said but the ones that worked against cravity. The second thing I want to add is that there are actually two types of hyperthrophy. Most people know only one though. It is the type where your muscle fiber size up, usually by getting wider but through special training you can also make them longer instead of wider. That is what you also call gaining muscle. Slow excentric and concentric exercises with good form against gravity with body weight or external weight/resistance will get you the best results here. But then there is the second type of hypertrophy which is unfortunately not known by many people allthough it is also very important, especially when you get older, when you have certain conditions such as parkinson or simply because you are an athlete in a gymnastics or dance sport. Contrary to the first type the second type does not widen or lenghten the muscle fibers but instead makes you use more of your fibers in the same muscle which also makes you stronger but without the visible muscle gain. You get this through stability training such as isometric exercises a combination of isometric, excentric and concentric exercises as well as excentric and concentric training on an unstable surface. (You can do the first two on a stable and on an unstable surface.) As said, this will not help you gain muscle weight but it will still strenghten the targetted muscles and also help them to adjust faster. This is especially important for people who are in risk of falling. So in short the isometric squat on the balance pad is actually a great exercise - just not for gaining musclesize. For ideal muscle training you need to do both. You need to get stronger through growing you muscle fibers stronger and through activating more muscle fibers at the same time. Last but not least doing exercises really fast is not doing nothing. Fast exercises are pretty useless if you do them for hypertrophys but you can use the to change you muscle fibers from slow twitch to fast twitch. Tjough it is easier to switch from fast to slow. The regular person does not need this but it can definitely make sense for some athletes. As an example, short track runners need to have as many fast twitch fibers as possible. The fast exercise in the video was still pretty useless bit it doesn't mean that doing exercises fast is always bad. This comment is not meant as a critique. I just wanted to share some more insight for the people who are interested into learning a bit more. These days there are many people outside who thing they are experts in the gym but actually know nothing about what they are doing and people who actually know that they know nothing about exercising believe that what those self made coaches know the best, follow their workouts and get frustrated or injured because they don't get what they where promised. I hope this will change someday. This bodybuilder here does certainly know a lot more than most of the other fit-fluencer out there. Keep it up 👌🏻 You are getting people on the right track. Thank you to those who read my comment. I know it is long but this much is important to understand the basics. I could dive much deeper into the topic but then this will turn into a novel. Have a wonderful day everyone ☀️

yea or tell them its ok to cheat on the last 2-3 just a little to help push the weights heavier and they are like nah nah i gotta do it with 10 lbs lighter than that so i can have complete tempo and control the whole time. Cool, go ahead and do that and then you will one day realize youre wasiting your time bc reps 1-11 were so easy you barely noticed them and you may have gotten 2-3 actual challenging reps out of that whole set.
@joewilliams8658 Жыл бұрын
@@jlogan2228 I don't think someone who trains to technical failure is wasting their time. They just have different priorities. Training to failure (i.e. mechanical failure) may increase recovery times and injury risk. Training to near failure (i.e. technical failure) is still a good stimulus for adaptation and may allow more volume to be moved over a whole workout plus better form for more reps will likely recruit more motor units than fewer heavier reps with degrading form. Imo newer lifters should be 100% focused on form and nailing that down so they avoid injury later on and that means doing lots of strict reps.

Man, dont want to say you wrong, but of lateral raises you dont really need big weights. I'm trained man and currently i'm using just 3kg for that exersice. So maybe it's ok weight for them?
@Flahtort Жыл бұрын
@@jlogan2228 , i also disagree with you. If persons form on point and he is training to the failure, what's the reason to cheat even? Help push the weights heavier? For what? What doest it even mean? To being able to use heavier weights? If tou want, just grab one and have the good form with less reps to the failure again. There is no difference for me. Or you mean load muscle after failure? I personally suggest drop-set or myoreps then. If person perform exercise with good form to the technical failure there is definitely no wastage of time.
@goldenpondrvpark1637 Жыл бұрын
@@Flahtort Maybe I should of been more specific. Talking about correct weight for an specific individual. I use 15lbs for Ultra Full ROM Lateral Raises. 200lb guy using 3 lb weights with perfect form for 10 reps and not even going RIR of 5, but then the next guy picks the 40 lb weights and can't do 1 correctly is even worse in my opinion. As a trainer originally from the northeast(LI, QUEENS born) who moved to West Los Angeles and established myself there over the course of 14 years, I can say that this caliber of trainer in the video demonstrates the pinnacle of competence amongst LA'S finest "celebrity trainers." Like myself - all have graduate degrees in a related science and hold advanced certs from the big 3(ACSM,NSCA, NASM). They also make Robert Greene proud and immerse themselves deeply in the study of sports endocrinology and functional pharmacology/pharmacokinetics of PEDs for the required 10,000 hours to meet mastery status of a highly relevant and often mandatory topic rampant in their chosen vocational field. 😂🤥🎓📚📜 These folks probably do "train the stars," but at the highest of levels there exists such a thing called a non-disclosure agreement(NDA). Not to be confused with proper legal jargon, in this context - this refers to the process whereby the behind the scenes professionals who are referred out privately and hired to pull the strings are paid to be kept out of the mainstream view. The Designers (of enhancement programs) and signers (of contracts). Short lived, non-existent interactions. The celebrity trainers are puppets. Doctors (MDS)don't know this stuff and it's not taught in medical school. They also have too much to lose and the majority living in or around LA already make enough $$$$$. The truth about Hollywood elite transformations is that the best of the best are nowhere near the spotlights. I have respect for many KZbin creators and certain channels (of course this one is in a league of its own), but the energy put into all the celebrity-related natty or not stuff with celebs just kills me. Maybe because both MPMD (Derek) and coach Greg live in Canada - they haven't ever been made to see for themselves - the truth behind what ties down with respect to the behind the scenes workings of most elite Hollywood transformations. Hard for me to believe though. BIG Mike - Love the channel and appreciate all your work my man!
