I have been using L-Arginine and L-Citrulline for more than a decade. We know a few things about Nitric Oxide that are not mentioned in this video: 1) combination with L-Citrulline will work better 2) utilising both pathways of Nitric Oxide production will optimise the NO levels: Arginine- NO synthase pathway and Nitrates-Nitrites pathway 3)Both the male and the female level of NO will have to be elevated for optimal sexual functions and performance.

My general surgeon explained to me about 8 years ago ; DHEA and L- arginine are the two best combinations of supplements that I could take to “ increase blood flow “ and would be good for my heart . When you say High Blood pressure is one of the leading causes of ED, is it the high blood pressure itself, or the result of the medication used to treat the high blood pressure? Great video!
@jkhegarty8572 жыл бұрын
In my professional experience, the ED can be caused by hypertension, which causes narrowing of the blood vessels. With antihypertensive meds, they will help dilate to further cardiac perfusion & improve blood flow to the circulatory system. For a man to achieve an erection, the penile blood vessels must dilate, trap blood in those blood vessels to achieve an erection. However, as Dr. Malek has explained in previous videos, ED can be affected by low testosterone levels. So whatever is the cause of ED, make sure your urologist does a full examine & blood panel to pinpoint the ED cause. (Work in an ICU) Hope this info was able to answer your question. 😊
@danielfeldman79132 жыл бұрын
@@jkhegarty857 Thanks so much for your reply! This does make sense, however I do take blood pressure meds, and they've had a LITTLE bit of an impact in this area...which sort of makes sense, as you're reducing the pressure throughout the body. It almost seems a little backards, where having too much pressure can also cause ED. As an example, my Dr. advises to stay away from beta blockers as those are notorious for causing ED, as it simply slows your heart down. I also tried a diuretic which cause ED big time! (however I had no idea it could, and wasn't warned of that)...it took my by surprise. My urologist says that blood pressure meds can indeed cause ED, based on what it's purpose is (reducing pressure), however some are much better than others. I do see your point though, and how hypertenion can also cause ED. Thanks, again!

@haroldhenderson28242 жыл бұрын
Elevated BP can have a number of causes. Thickening of the blood vessel wall (particularly arteries) can prevent dilation. It is the pressure AND flow of blood into the erectile tissues that inflates them. Inadequate flow is as bad as inadequate pressure, maybe worse. Inflation starts, but can't be maintained (drains out as fast, as it flows in).
@haroldhenderson28242 жыл бұрын
Some BP medications (and anti-depressants) also disrupt nerve impulses. More likely to have a 'missed ejaculation' than lack of erection. Imagine getting erect, having a great time, reaching a peak, but just can't ejaculate.

QQQ @Rena Malik, M.D. or anybody engaged in the biological sciences: 1) If only HDL is increased, then, what is wrong with that? 2) Since L-Arginine is not targeting specifically PGE5, wouldn't that imply more NO for the whole body? In such a case wouldn't it be beneficial to those taking antioxidant supplementation, which isn't yet a scientifically established method for extending health/lifespan? With a major flaw of such a treatment been theorized to be the reduction of NO? 3) If 2 L-Arginine + 3 NADPH + 3 H+ + 4 O2 ⇌ 2 L-Citrulline +2 NO + 4 H2O + 3 NADP+ holds, then by supplementing citrulline, aren't we pushing backwards the equation, actually losing NO? Interesting thought...I was thinking, how can a single amino acid do all that, but when you said it's used in the production of nitric oxide, I thought...ah yes, nitric oxide helps in many things in the body...including healing. Now I have to look up citrinine(sp?). It sounds like that would be more advantageous.

Definitely interesting to learn that it metabolizes that fast. I do know it is taken with other NO boosters by guys going to the gym. I wonder how taking it 3x/day would effect that?

All I know is I started using L Arginine for better circulation due to being disabled and really limited cardiovascular exercise options. After using it for a while I started to get erections several times a day. At first I thought it was just a fluke but this happened every day for several weeks especially at night. I cut back on the amount because the erections were happening at moments that were not appropriate 🤣. Keep in mind I'm a functional quadriplegic and I'm 50 and getting erections like an 18 year old. I do exercise regularly and try to eat a disciplined diet but I never had erections like that after being disabled not until the L Arginine. Just my two cents

How many time did u take it ? plz for a good result ?
@juniormendoza6572 жыл бұрын
@@adildadil4213 as you know our body responds and reacts differently from other individuals. I follow a strict discipline diet and exercise my upper body regularly. The particular product i was using recommends 1 tablet daily before exercise. I was taking around 4 tables upon waking and around another 4 tablets at noon. I honestly was just trying stack it in my system for a week or two since my accident my blood pressure was really low. This also helped get my blood pressure get to normal levels and that was the whole reason for the amount I was taking at the beginning. Since I'm not able to walk i experimented with the excess amount of L Arginine to get better blood pressure. The bonus was the erections that came from my experiment. I would caution you to be careful because I don't know your current health status. I soley did this at my own risk. But I've been experimenting with alternatives to RXs on everything at my own risk.

@@Eyes-of-Horus the brand I'm taking is 1000mg per tablet. The reason I didn't mention how many I took is because I didn't sit down and write how many I was talking. Randomly I would take 6 in the morning maybe another 4 in the afternoon. Maybe another 3 at night. I experimented with the dosage like I said I'm disabled I don't have the circulation that a normal person has that can go for a long walk or a jog. You shouldn't have to take a high dosage like I did plus eating a clean diet is gonna get you better results without a high dosage like I have to resort to. My cardiovascular exercise options are limited. Do your own experiment you need to figure out what your body responds to the best

In the video you mentioned one of the side effects of taking L-Arginine is that test subjects had increased HDL. Wouldn't that be a good thing since HDL is considered the "healthy" cholesterol?
@thegambler8082 жыл бұрын
Thats what I thought too. HDL is like a sponge that scoops the free LDL that are bad, in the bloodstream.
@quincyalexander81852 жыл бұрын
Both HDL and LDL are good. They each serve a purpose with the transport of cholesterol to and from the liver. . LDL repairs damage to cells and arteries. HDL just transports the excess back to the Liver. This way it can be recycled and use to hormones.

I tend to have low blood pressure at rest, and need to drink coffee/caffeine to maintain a healthy BP. I used to take L-Arginine about 10 yrs ago and I literally turned into Hugh Jackman's Wolverine. No joke. I eventually got married to an Asian hottie wife, and slowly stopped maintaining my workout routine. Now it's time to jumpstart that routine again. 🤠👍

As you are aware, perhaps it is better to as they say steer the conversation towards ED itself as one of numerous signs of potential, current, or future disorder disease and dysfunction, as they say what else is such associated with. Whether someone wishes to have children, have more energy, live a fulfilling purposeful life, etc. is it better to ask that such could be merely one of potentially innumerable potential conditions or symptoms ? That perhaps as a first goal maybe asking what do they really want such as trying both to perform their best and satisfy the other, have a more fulfilling relationship, and then reflect on what could be next. As you are from South Asia, I think proper interpretation of classical texts is to see the corpse as a whole, that any so called disease is merely some arbitrary classification of a subset of all that is simultaneously occurring within, that the goal is to develop and maintain the corpse such that one can pursue dharma, artha, kama, moksha, or some other cultural virtue. In Caraka Samita, it is said the primary method of therapeutics is smooth and even operation of (all) tissues, dhatusamya. Yet do you hear others speak of such or instead for example so many speak of what is termed dosha, or something else and not that at every moment some less than ideal state of some tissue such as fat - I think not how much one weighs but that fat tissue has specific functions and when fat is not as it should be (amount composition, other ?) -, all other tissues are possibly affected, whether reproductive bone muscle brain or other. Just as a mechanic will look at the entire car and get it running as it should, just as a so termed fitness trainer will as they say work with someone as long as necessary, that was once perhaps needs to be again a true doctor. Look at anyone anywhere in the world, and ask is that what the human body and mind could be, that's what you could be. So many tend to use the term genetics yet achieving a higher understanding whether through bioenergetics (mitochondrial function), microbiome, epigenetics, or other, for all perhaps more is possible than anyone can imagine.

I used to buy a vitamin pack from a supplement store(GNC) when I used to lift weights. 1 of the 8 pills a day was for "male health" . I have never had any trouble in my life with this kind of issue but it was just included in the pack. The result was insane. You were almost halfway ready all day long everyday. I literally had to stop taking it because it was too much. Not sure what was in the supplement but holy it was strong.

Hey Dr. I was told I have H. pylori in my stool and E. Coli in my urinary tract and they want me to take Levofloxacin but that antibiotic causes liver failure. I never picked it up! I’ve also been having foamy urine for a year now but no protein was found in my urine culture. I also did an Kidney ultrasound and it was normal. Now They Want Me To Get Doxycycline Monohydrate but that’s for skin infections in which I don’t have. I have had terrible luck with doctors and I’m hesitant. What should I do? On Sunday I had burning sensation while urinating a minor blood but that went away on its own yesterday and pain on my right leg under my calf. I’m only 33 years old! What do you suggest I take? God bless you

I think saliva helps with Nitric Oxide production when consuming leafy greens like spinach, this is why you want to avoid mouth wash, it destroys the bacteria in your mouth that break down foods
