Renault had showcased the Kwid 1.0 Easy-R at the 2016 Auto Expo and since then buyers have been waiting for the two-pedal variant of the hatchback. Now, building further on the success of the Kwid, the French manufacturer has launched the AMT variant at an introductory price of Rs 4.25 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Notably, the option of the is available only in the top-end RXT (O) trim and costs a mere Rs 30,000 more than the manual version.
Under the hood, the 5-speed AMT is paired to the 1.0-litre mill that churns out 68PS of max power at 5500rpm and 91Nm of peak torque at 4250rpm. Driving modes can be changed with a twist of the dial located below the centre console. It gets modes Reverse, Neutral and Drive.
The Kwid was an instant hit thanks to its SUV-like design and of course the space, comfort and that feature list. So how does the AMT add to the Kwid’s credentials? We drove it for a while to find out.

+zakir tvm Go with the AMT if you want to drive the car without any hassle in bumper to bumper traffic in city conditions else go with the manual, if you prefer better control and power.

I had purchased a Renokwid AMT easy r in may 2017.But due to starting problem after 2 year I changed the Battery by the advice of Reno service authority North BBSR on Nov 2019. But it is regret that same problem is facing most of the time on the road.So I request to authority/service personal please solve the matter for day to day drive.

Alto AMT is easy to maintain and also has less NVH level compared to KWID AMT. KWID AMT has got one of the best transmission. Our bid would be KWID AMT as it offers better features and is more spacious than Alto.

Well to correct the review, the car's engine is not little noisy but TOO much noisy. My sis own KWID and we are socked to realize that its petrol engine SOUNDS LIKE DIESEL ENGINE.. Obviously this sounds is the loss of engine efficiency and creates very bad impression among your friends and family. Dear Renault - Please accept that it is very noisy and do something to improve it. You have long way to do fair in JD power customer satisfaction survey. My Conclusion - UNLESS RENAULT CORRECT THE BELOW ISSUES MY ADVICE IS TO STAY AWAY FROM KWID:- ISSUE 1 -- ENGINE IS NOISY. ISSUE 2 -- CIRCULAR KNOB BASED GEAR CHANGE IS DIFFICULT TO USE. GIVE AN OPTION LIKE OTHER AMT CARS. ISSUE 3 -- BONET OPENING LATCH LOOKS VERY BAD.

You need to control the brakes and accelerator simultaneously.

No. This means, when you take your foot off the brake pedal, the car wont "creep" forward automatically. You will have to press the accelerator to do that. The creep functionality is helpful in bumper to bumper traffic. If starting off on an incline use the handbrake to keep from rolling back.

Have purchased an KWID RXT AMT this month after lot of research.However the vehicles performance is not very encouraging in steep gradient roads.Wonder whether it is suitable for hill/ghat road.Had a scary experience when it stopped midway and refused to pull on in a Mall parking lot (underground) driveway.

Both of them are great. However, we would suggest you to go for Celerio here as it is easy to maintain and also has everything that you need.
