Tips to drive amt when it halts on slope: In upward slopes when car halts, put on handbrake, now slowly press accelerator pedal. When car slowly pushes forward, leave handbrake, car will move without rollback. Same technique for reversing in a downhill.

What is the difference in this review from earlier 2018 reviews?? lol All has remained the same for kwid , no changes? everything u mentioned are from old 2018 kwid. Can you plz tell me any difference from earlier models like power controlled orvm's , push start stop button , auto closing orvms , back window wiper / defogger etc etc? Then what has renault done new in 2019??

Yes. You are right. The 2019 model barely sees any changes. It's only an updated infotainment system and inclusion of standard safety equipment .

@@Automowheels hi thanks for reply. that are only cosmetic changes.. but what standard safety equipment they have added apart from the already available ABS /EBD? plz can u share as i may have missed out. I think they still dont have co-driver side Airbags? then what RENAULT has added in SAFETY FEATURES as you mentioned in your comments?? Also, they can & should increase the price some bit (at least in the top automatic climber variant) to include the MUST & very important features like power or at least internal manual controlled orvm's , adjstable headrests ( this prevents one from head injuries in case of a accident/crash or if someone hitting the car from back) , then also adding some aesthetic features like push button start stop & also v. imp some manual mode option in automatic, night mode irvm's , dynamic guidelines in rear view camera( this will may be just need some software firmware upgrades AFAIF & also much enhance the popularity & sales of KWID ) , also i dont understand why they skipped power windows in the back while they give it at the front(??!!) & minimum of one bottle space in the back, they could have give some space at least in between the driver co-driver seats!!

Driveability of the Kwid is pretty good. You wont face issues on steep climbs.

If it's for Kolkata city, should definitely go for AMT. Don't think there will be any difference in maintenance cost as such, but some owners may be able to answer this better.

Build quality was above average. Can't expect a lot in the price bracket. Thankfully since ABS and Airbags are mandatory now, safety should be a notch higher too.

In your video of types of automatic transmission, you have told that AMT is manual along automatic transmission. I thought it will be as in alto k10.but in this video you referred the kwid's transmission as AMT and it has only automatic not manual. So, does it belongs to AMT?

Sir, have u ever tried in city subway slopes during traffic. It doesn't have manual, so how can one manage in subways.

Agree it doesn't have a manual mode. However, the 1 litre engine is decently punchy and should be able to manage on most slopes. Besides, the gearbox is quick to downshift when things get too tough!

Yes. The Kwid is pretty reliable and low on maintenance. For my height (and yours), I found the driving posture great. Although, you will have to move the seat back a bit so that your knee doesn't touch the keyfob (it's huge). This means although you can sit comfortably, people behind you will have a slight trouble. 😊

@@Automowheels I don't think so bro. it's not comfortable for tall person, even I have 6.1" . In showroom I have checked and found its required driver seat full back and headroom was not also good for me. How you fit into this if you are 6.2"??

Can you please suggest which is better : Kwid AMT Climber or Datsun Redi GO AMT S 1.0 ? I am 6'1'' and looking mainly for city drive ie. MG Road to Whitefield , commute to office. Also should i go for AMT to starting price manual cars (i10, Swift etc ).

Hi Nishant. For traffic in Bangalore, it is highly recommended to go for an automatic. Believe me, the convenience you get goes a long way! Having said that, I will seriously advise you against any Datsun cars as their cars don't enjoy a lot of reputation on various factors. You could very well consider the Kwid or even the new Santro AMT. Both have very good AMT boxes and can fit tall guys like you & I. 😊

@@Automowheels The car will be my company provided and they have hard stop at budget 5.90 lakhs and santro does not come in that budget. Then, I guess Kwid Climber Automatic will be best option. Will take a test ride in coming days and finalise then.

Yes. Please do take a test drive of both. I would incline slightly towards the Santro in this case since Hyundai is better after-sales service.
