Wouldn't it be better to have the negative lines of the PSUs' output connected to the protective earth or at least to each other? Or are these already continuous with PE inside the PSUs?

You are absolutely right and I forgot about that completely! Thank you for pointing that out! Folks, connect the 2 GNDs of the PSUs!

Wouldn't it be more conveniant to have a DIN-rail and mount terminal blocks on that? With the right ones you can then expand the power rails if needed without any hassle. It would also give you a great place to mount accessories in the future.

At the end, this comes down to personal preference. I like the WAGO221 because they are even more convenient than DIN-rail mounted terminal blocks.

I would like to know if you have 12v tool fan in mind and how would you do the wiring on the duet 2 with a separate 12v power supply.

To use the Varipower heated bed, it says I have to use either a 600w psu or add a second psu for those of us in the USA. Is this correct? And why?
@ReneJurack
@ReneJurack 2 жыл бұрын
I've no personal experience with the 24V Varipower beds from E3D, so best would be to contact E3D-support directly about this.

@@ReneJurack what breed do you have on your tool changer then?
@mhe0815

@@K1llerElite68 Toolchanger comes with a 230V bed that the Duet controls via a solid state relay, but the actual power for the bed comes from mains directly and doesn't run through the PSU, hence a 320 should be plenty for it. Each hotend heater is only 40W. So that makes 120 for the hotends, that makes 200W remaining for board, the few NEMA17 motors and some fans.

@@ReneJurack yeah I need a height adjustable workdesk and yours has a sufficient load rating which others lag of. I very like the video quality btw. Huge step forward.

I think the Wago 222s are just rated for 20A, you put a 24A PSU behind it and enough printerstuff which can draw more than 20A in total behind it. Maybe reconsider using sth else?
@ReneJurack
@ReneJurack 3 жыл бұрын
it’s a 24V PSU with 320W power, which equals in 13.3A max. The 12V PSU is 60W, so 5A max. The WAGO221 are chosen fine 😊

I don’t think you need to worry about the current carrying capacity of Wago connectors. Check out this video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nJ22pGeGgcacaLs
