Can't you afford a proper spanner or socket for doing up the terminals? The terminal rings are too big for the studs. You could have at least used some decent washers to help make up for that. Not setting a good example to the inexperienced who may buy your products and install them themselves. Many home builds are dreadful and unsafe. Manufacturers should do better than this.

See those woven white gloves? These are gloves used by factory workers in China. This is a generic video from the factory that Renogy outsources to. Also look at the plugs in the wall. One of the typical standards in China. Renogy had nothing to do with the video other than making a voiceover. For most persons this is not an issue but actually you're right: they should have made their own video. It would take maybe an hour to produce.

Will it auto shut off the charging when the batteries is fully charged? To be more specific, I am looking for an UPS system for the fridge and freezer. I want to connect the unit to the grip and by pass the battery when power supply is normal. Auto switch to use the battery when power failure is detected. Charge the battery when the power is restored. Will this system do all that automatically?

Question here... Just installed a new Unit but Display won't turn on.... But just noticed my 12Volt batteries are drained would that make a big difference? Or wouldn't the unit just charge the batteries when hooked up to 110V. Cause got good power going in.

You have to have somewhat charged batteries connected or it won’t function.

Aren’t you supposed to put a 300 amp fuse or breaker between the battery and the inverter?

The fuse must be installed between the battery and the inverter to ensure safe operation. For a 2KW inverter, a 250A fuse is recommended, while for a 3KW inverter, a 350A fuse is advised to provide optimal protection and performance.

Will this unit work with a Cerbo monitor? I see an RJ-45 port but unfortunately no explanation in the video.

This inverter is not compatible with DC Home, and the RJ45 port on the machine does not serve any practical function at the moment. It is currently an unused port. Perhaps we will make some adjustments to this in the future.

On the 2000 watt unit does the inverter has the ability to work on a single 200 Ah 12 volt battery, or can you add 2 or more batteries with the same 200 Ah to create a bank Note: this bank will be set up in parallel. Or you have to keep the batteries at 50 Ah to use 4 batteries without going over the 200Ah limit or does it matter?

Hi, Raul. The 2000w unit can work on a single 200 Ah or more batteries. You do not have to keep the batteries at 50Ah with 4 batteries.

With the inverter set up as in the video in a motorhome will the inverter automatically allow sure power to take over when sure power is connected as in ups systems or do you have to change inverter settings to sure power then back to inverter power when tge sure power is disconnected again.

When on shore power, this unit charges the batteries and the AC output goes into bypass mode acting like an UPS.

If they're using an adjustable wrench to tighten those nuts then you definitely know these guys are serious. Just ignore that heat shrink that's all torn up. 75A input charging current which would be 7.5A of AC and whatever size to CGBs are don't seem large enough for what...18 gauge wires?

@@Renogy_Cares I've got a MultiPlus and it came with knockouts so I can run LMT and make it look a lot better. I used to have some renogy equipment, but when I would call in to clarify how something works the guy would usually say "Let's learn this together" or "I don't think we make that product" so naturally I moved on.

Would I be able to connect to solar panels to charge the batteries. But when the solar panels are unable to charge the batteries due to poor weather. Would I be able to connect a remote/auto start generator to start charging up the batteries. We are talking being in a situation where its totally off grid and there is no possibility of getting mains electricity supply.

Thank you for your attention. This inverter cannot be connected to solar panels, but it can be connected to a generator. The generator's output is connected to the AC input, and then the startup circuit is connected to the inverter's dry contact, allowing for automatic start and stop.

@@RenogySolar Thank you ever so much for your reply. I am sorry. I thought that this inverter could be connected to solar panels through a rover mppt. I am afraid that the instruction book is not great for showing how the generator should be connected for remote start. Once you connect the generator output to the inverter ac input. Does the inverter need to be programmed in anyway. Will the power from the generator connected at the ac input of the inverter automatically start to charge the batteries the inverter is connected to. If solar panels are connected to the rover mppt which is then connected to the batteries which in turn are connected to the inverter. Will the invertor some hower stop the rover mppt from continuing to try and charge the batteries The example is this. The voltage from the solar panels into the mppt drops below a specific level. does invertor detect this to then set the generator going. How does the system work?

Yes, a solar charge controller is required, but it only charges the batteries when the AC input is not energized (not connected to shore power).

You'll need a solar charger controller that's efficient for you solar panel's. Coon repair trh panel's to the solar charge controller than connect your solar charge controller to you're battery bank. The inverter will also connect to the battery bank. I've been told to get bus bars for all the power needs and that run a single wire to the battery. I'm not 100 on the bus bar thing though.

I see the newest model has a dedicated grounding lug, but if there is one on the model in the video, I didn't see it and the video didn't mention it.

Wish mine worked like this. Shore power is 100% live but inverter will not register.....stuck without power when dry camping. Grouse.

Who made this "instructional" video?!!!! It looks like the person doing the wiring had the skills of some drunk they pulled out of an alley and offered a 6 pack to do the video. An adjustable wrench to "tighten" the terminals?!!! It will work in an emergency, but seriously, how hard would it have been to grab the proper size wrench or socket? And the heat shrink on the wire! They look like a dog has been chewing on them and then you have the 3/8 (10mm) ring terminal with a 5/16 (8mm) or 1/4 (6mm) bolt to hold it down! Sure. I can see nothing ever going wrong here. Sure, it shows the basics on how to hook up the Inverter Charger, but it also shows some improper, and sloppy, techniques. Very disappointing from a big name in the solar business. If this is the quality of work that Renogy uses on all of it's products, maybe they should leave the electronics alone and build something that requires a skill set a little more on their level. You know, like installing the little plastic thing on the end of your shoelaces. 6/10 for the content, but 1/10 for the sloppy wiring and setting a bad example.🙄

You always hook up the positive cable first so you don't cause a dangerous situation when touching your wench by accident to ground side of circuit. WOW ! That's basic electrical safety. Redo this video to reflect the correct why of performing this task.
