We are going to Aulani in November and rented points for 7 nights. By renting points we will be staying in an ocean view studio for $2900. If I reserved directly through Disney it would be $4800. We are not DVC owners (forgot to mention that).

We did that 2 years ago. We rented a 1bd, pool view. It was Amazing. We've also rented at Wilderness lodge Boulder Ridge 1bd. Beach club studio for Food and Wine last year.

We are not DVC owners, but we've rented 3 times. First trip was Aulani summer 2017 in a 1bd pool view. Then last year twice last year. 1bd at Boulder Ridge at Wilderness lodge in the summer. Then we stayed at Beach club in a studio for Food and Wine. I love having the full kitchen and washer and dryer.

I used the DVC store to rent points at the Poly and Vero Beach and the process was very easy. Saved hundreds of dollars. And yes, when my friend came into our deluxe studio at the Poly she said it was nicer than the hotel rooms!

Incorrect about paying for the dining plan at the time of purchase. I believe it’s less than a week or so out and you can still add the dining plan. Same goes with magic express, I don’t usually add my flight information until a couple weeks out.

We've been to Disney numerous times but this year is the first time that were renting dvc. Splitting between AKL Savannah view and the Polynesian. Still don't completely understand the point thing completely or the booking time frame guidelines but this was definitely the cheapest way to stay at these resorts. can't wait to get back down there.

This is another GREAT video that I will share. I have recommended that people test drive DVC by renting if they are on the fence all the time. Your discussion, examples and questions were so spot on and easy to understand for non DVC owners. As a 17 year owner and DVC geek I sometimes have trouble explaining it the way you did in this vid. There are vloggers who say "why buy" and only rent DVC. With the 100 pts min from DVD and risk at RR the strategy is golden for those who don't have 20K to buy and don't want to finance. (The B/E cost skyrockets with finance) 🤔This could make a great episode discussing costs to finance vs Cash or HECL. I have no financial interest in the DVC Store but highly reccomend them. My personal experience buying 2 contracts was awesome.

How about an episode on renting points out? Is there a minimum number of points that you should rent out? Is it all or nothing? Seems every year I'll have a few points left over but not certain if

We didn’t rent points but took someone reservation once. It popped up a week before check in, also the weekend before spring break. It was for 2 nights at Aulani for a 1 bedroom villa for $1000. That was about $400 cheaper that the kamaaina rate you can get as a local. Then we didn’t have to pay for the parking and just paid that silly tax Hawaii charges. It was a great deal.

We have Wilderness Lodge, but when we have a big group, we will rent those out, and then rent from OKC 11 months out to get a Grand Villa. It is a hassle, but honestly most of the work is done by the 3rd party. It effectively gets you the 11 month window (more if walking) at any resort

Having stayed at the studios at BCV, BWV, CCV, and The Poly.....the Poly Studios are superior. It pains me to go against our home resort of CCV, but if the Poly studio is available, we will choose it every time.

I have rented points many times staying st the Grand Floridian, Polynesian, Animal Kingdom Lodge. I am staying a split stay in November 2 nights at the Polynesian, 5 at the Beach Club and 2 at the Boardwalk. My Boardwalk and Beach Club stay is less than moderate prices. I booked 11 months out.

I know renting points is common, but is it fully approved by Disney? If I rented out most of my points, most of the time for years... would I be violating any terms of my DVC contract?
@chanilerner64105 жыл бұрын
Hunter Wilson no, you wouldn’t be violating your contract. You can rent out all of your points every year.

Absolutely Love your vlogs... If I'm understanding correctly... All the benefits of booking my magic through Disney at almost half the price.... As long as it's a year out and available? Wow! What if we're looking for 10 - 13 days? Sounds too good to be true. 🏰🙈🙉🙊

What if you decide never to become a member and just always rent points? As someone who lives about 3 hours from Orlando and has a flexible schedule, is this a viable solution?
@dennip605 жыл бұрын
I always rent points. We find this is the best option for our family. We have been doing it for about 4 years, now, and have several bookings set for next year.

This show has been super helpful in deciding on DVC. I recently took the tour at Saratoga, and looked at rooms for the Riviera. The numbers actually work out really nicely for not being local, to the point where I'm staying in Deluxe Accommodations for the price of Pop Century (providing I go every year and stay for a week each year). Is there any reason for me not to join?

Such a great video and full of useful information. I'll never afford to be a DVC member but really like the idea of renting points. I need to investigate this further.Im in the UK so can the dvcstore help me or is it just for Americans? X

Tracey, anyone can rent DVC points. I’m from the UK and rented last year. Got to stay at the Beach Club Villas for Epcot food and wine festival. I would definitely recommend you try it😎

We’ve rented DVC points through one of the rental companies for a 7-night stay next year at AKL. We’re paying $240/night for our standard/pool view studio. By comparison, a pool view room at POP that same week is $215/night. Sure we had to book 11 months out and pay upfront, but if you can make DVC rental work for you, it’s almost too good to be true!
@hansel41505 жыл бұрын
BryanMBowen DVC rental is always worth it if you can plan far in advance. You can also use PayPal 6month no interest to pay for it too, so no need to plop down all the money at once

The only thing I don't believe you addressed is if you have to pay that rental amount in full at time of renting or if you can do it in a payment plan. Otherwise, thank you for giving us all the useful info, Pete and Team!

I think it depends who you go through. Some reputable dealers will make you pay in full and others make you pay like 60% up front.
