In Palermo ask the landlord about noise. We rented an Airbnb just back from the Makeda and across from a small inconspicuous bar that held VERY LOUD street concerts on Friday and Saturday until 5:00am.

I hate that. 1am is OK but not 5am. I always carry earplugs. Lots of them.

In Sicily there is a shortage of water, no one lets their water run while showering, washing dishes. You might actually run out of water. Something to remember while visiting.

Something to remember when looking for a place to buy a home! I couldn't take the temps down there... Almost 50 degrees (like 122 F) this past year... I will take a pass on that.

Love watching your informative and inspiring videos. It would be great to see 90 day rentals in Tuscany and Umbria. Thanks 😊

very helpful, thanks, Brad! I'll be shopping for a rental sometime in the next year once my current lease expires in the US

There's a lot of great old used furniture out there that can be picked up cheaper than new Ikea pieces.

That’s right!! People are literally giving it away here. I know we did.

Would be valuable to know if the utilities or some of them are included with the rentals, particularly shorter-term. Longer-term is usually not included I understand.
@BradsWorld2 ай бұрын
Short term is usually included. Longer-term is not. We’re paying about €110 per month for electricity and about €180 per month for gas. But then includes the winter season which is pretty cold here. Not bad considering how expensive, the energy cost are here.

But you can't use an Airbnb rental to establish residency can you? It the process of getting citizenship via the commune?
@sappypics53772 ай бұрын
No you can not.
@BradsWorld2 ай бұрын
That’s two different things. You would have to find a Airbnb that was available for a full year, and that might be difficult, but maybe not unheard of. And they would have to produce some sort of official lease. That’s approved with local commune that you could present for your meeting. But really this is more just a way for you to be here for 90 days and something that’s not gonna be that expensive and you don’t have to move around. And you use this as a springboard defined a long-term rental, which is a lot harder to come up with. And then you present that as housing for your ERV. Remember, you’re allowed to be in Italy halftime without filing any paperwork. You just show up and that’s it. Some sage advice for those of you on the fence.
