I never had the warm light on my old kindle, but i do not use it on the ipad so I will probably not need it. I think the only thing I'll miss is the self-adjusting light, but this is so worth it!

Seems like it's a common Kindle Fire HD problem. Bluetooth and airplane mode toggle buttons working fine just the Wi-Fi one not activating. Tried everything suggested including factory reset, nothing happened.

Thanks for help with fire tablet.. Had to go to last resort .ie restarting the whole process. It took Mabey 20 mins as made a few mistakes.I found the crucial password on th back of your router box to anable Wi-Fi connection to tablet (usually in all Caps)👍

My nieces fire tab WiFi button will not turn on. I’ve done everything but a factory reset. I’ve read others have and it still it did not solve the same issue I’m having. So there’s no point in loosing the apps already installed that doesn’t need WiFi. This is very frustrating and I don’t understand why there has yet to be fix to this problem as many have the same issue.

Okay I have a contribution. You could also try switching users. It restricts wifi in guest mode. Switch user to owner🙂.

I was about to do a factory reset in my fire hd 8 but instead I went to settings > device options > system updates > click update/learn more. Then the wifi connected immediately. Hopefully, it will work on you guys. It did for me!

Yep. Mine used to work fine. Didn't use it for a few months. When I tried again, it would not read wifi. Putting in wifi name and password did nothing. Still got "authentication" notice. I'll never buy another amazon tablet.

Mine just says searching for networks. I can see all the saved networks but no option to connect to any of them. My house, my sisters, my grandmothers, mobile hotspot, etc. Kindle can’t seem to see any of them

Hello im trying to set up my Amazon fire 10 tablet for the first time & i got to the connect to wifi page and it says choose a network, but no networks are showing like they do on my phone. I Clicked on add a network and nothing happens, it's not letting me even add a network.i even clicked on refresh and it just spins and spins. My wifi isnt the problem becuz its working fine on my phone.i decided to reboot the wifi anyhow to see if it would help as well as i rebooted the tablet and moved right beside my router to see if it would help, but still nothing! The device is new therefore i am stuck on this page so i cant swipe down to open my wifi up do you have any suggestions that i can try? Is there another way to do a factory reset beings thati cant get past this page?

My Fire tablet just decided one day to not connect to the wifi. Day before - just fine. But not the following day. When I tapped "wifi", it should have shown me the list of available wifi networks. Nope! just blank and not recognizing any available networks. So not only would it not automatically connect to my wifi network - it wouldn't even recognize/list those available. Finally I just rebooted the tablet. After the reboot, it connected to my wifi right away. Going into the wifi settings again, now it lists all available networks. Hmmm. But right after it started connecting to wifi as it should, now it won't connect to the bluetooth speaker. (I use the tablet to play a radio station.) It recognizes the bluetooth device. But tapping that device's name just leads to the tablet stating "Connecting...." for several seconds. And then it just stops trying to connect. Meanwhile, other devices (such as my phone) connect to the bluetooth speaker easily. I tried the reboot solution again, but the Fire tablet just isn't having it. Everything is up to date on the Fire. The tablet truly has a mind of its own. 😆

​@@HelpingHermit I didn't do the factory reset. I thought the "I can't even find an available wifi network" was a much worse-bad-Fire-tablet thing than "I can't connect to that bluetooth speaker that I can see 7 feet from me".

I keep trying to connect to my internet on my tablet but it keeps telling me wrong password. But the password is correct and the same password I connect with on all of my devices from back of my router!! My internet provider had no clue what was causing this problem and I called Amazon on Monday (1/17) and they were supposed to call me back Wednesday (1/19) with a solution but they never did!! The only advice they gave me when I last spoke to them was to reset the internet and factory reset the tablet, but those steps did not work!!!!

Know of a way to use ethernet cable for internet in place of wifi?? Bought a ethernet to usb-c adapter, plugged in, turned fire 10 (11th), off then on later, off airplane . Still no connection thru adapter.

Yeah, i think my tablet is just broken after not using it for a long time. Cant connect to wifi, factory reset to the point of wifi, then just an eternal repeat of "Connecting/Saving/Lost". Fuck this. PC works, Phone works, neighbours work. Only the tablet doesnt.

Fire Tablets are garbage. My daughter's friend came today and she brought her Fire Tablet. She wanted me to connect it to our WiFi. I tried connecting it to one of the WiFi networks and nothing. Tried the other WiFI network...nothing. I tried creating a third virtual wireless network to use WEP instead of WPA2 thinking maybe that wold do the job...nothing. Restarted my modem, router, and her Fire Tablet...nothing. I even tried resetting her WiFi and Bluetooth settings...nothing. As all this is happening, 20 devices were connected to my wireless networks without a problem. I then remembered that a few years ago, my son's friend brought his Fire Tablet over to play Among Us and I wasted a few hours attempting to connect his device to my network with no success. I've never had as many issues with any device as I've had with Fire Tablets. Stay away from them, spend a little more money on something better, and save yourself a lot of headache.

I have 3 amazon tablets for my kids and all of them started dropping wifi every 2 seconds at the same time, i see its a common problem but for all 3 of the tablets to be doing the same thing all at the same time is strange. They are all different generation tablets but all amazon tablets nonetheless. is there any advice you could give me? ive tried everything.

that sounds like its more of an issue with your wifi router and not the tablets. Take one near the router and see if it works better. If it does you may need to get another router.

The problem might be because we have a wfi Splitter they don't want to disconnect and it might be connecting to one part then trying to connect to the other

@@FlowingTitlesUniverse I followed the steps that a gentleman by name of Jeff Ballantyne on KZbin suggested to do. It has to do with the router settings. And, finally I was able to connect my tablet and my daughter’s tablet to the Wi-Fi (knock on wood 3x’s) it stays this way. Because I was ready to throw them in the garbage.

This is probably Amazons way to get me to buy a new Kindle Fire. ( by the way this is my 8th ge. i have been using Kindle since before Fire) Thanks for nothing, those are suggestions for a 10 year old who has never operated a computer! The problem is WiFi says CONNECTED BUT when we open an app like " Kindle" to read a book tablet says " Not Connected"!

I would advise nobody to ever buy a Kindle Fire. They are cheap for a reason. They are incredibly poor quality. Imagine a tablet that can't even perform a basic function as connecting to wifi
