Ok, I’ve had ours for about 8 years… today this happened! I was sure it was finally time to get a new one. You SAVED Rosie!!! She is back at it!! ❤️ Thank you!!

Thanks - without your video i would have NEVER figured that out. In about 2 minutes i was good to go. Sure enough, when I took a pair of pliers and pulled up very firmly, I heard a plastic loud pop sound and it was free. This saved me a lot of time and money. Excellent advice!

Thank you so much for making this video! I kept cleaning the brush and "Karl" kept saying please clean my brush. There is panic in my house when he can't do his job. I finally took that piece off that you suggested, held it with pliers and was able to make it turn -- that's when I saw there were little amounts of fuzz pieces catching it. I coaxed them out with a sewing needle and he is back on the job! You really are a legend!

This was absolutely 100% instant easy fix for the brush not spinning. Thank you.

I got to the exact same conclusion you did, but couldn't figure out how to get that piece to start rotating. Your fix worked! Thank you for your help.

You have no idea how you saved my life with your video! Thank you thank you thank you! I went through exactly the same steps, assuming he was just complaining about a dirty brush, but that didn't fix it. I didn't have to lube the piece on the end of the brush, just took it off and pulled the long thingie out, turns out it had become jammed, and was frozen because it made a snapping sound and then rotated freely when I pulled on it. I was so hoping I didn't have to return another Neato Botvac because this one had a brother that was defective and had to go back. The lithium batteries exploded on that one. It was just sitting there on the charger one day, everything was quiet in the house, when it suddenly went KABOOM! and a little wisp of smoke came out the top. After my cat and I stopped levitating and came back down to earth, I went over and unplugged him and there was a strong smell of burning wires. I now don't totally trust this one plugged in at home alone, I always unplug him when I'm gone. I figure I have smoke alarms so as long as someone is home it shouldn't be a problem, we would be able to respond to the emergency. However, I never leave him in my commercial building alone (where he cleans 2,000 square feet a week) because there isn't always someone there to respond to a smoke alarm and it would really annoy me if he burned it down.

Thanks, man! This was the exact solution I needed. Same scenario - kept immediately complaining about 'clean my brush' even though I did clean it several times. Sure enough, it was that piece was stuck. Unstuck it and now my Neato is working great again.
@giorgiogalante19895 жыл бұрын
Thanks - I used your video last year to solve this problem and then it happened again today. Using the same technique I was able to get it working again but I decided to take it a step further (and risk breaking the part.) After following your instructions I also took a small screwdriver and wedged it in the gap between the orange and black part, lift carefully, moving it all around the edge until the orange part separated from the rest of the assembly (a vise helps.). Inside it was full of dirt - I wiped it clean and snapped the assembly back together. Hopefully this will extend the life of the fix. Thanks again - hope this helps.

This freed my brush up. We had a lot of construction and used Neato afterwards to vacuum the carpets. He must have gotten a lot of drywall/paint dust in the end of the roller gears. The light would turn red and the app would say he was stuck and to move him a few feet. The tech at Neato told me to remove the bar and to see if he worked and he did. Our Ludwig, a Neato Botvac D7 has been healed!!!! We got him this winter 2021!

Hey, wife complained. I took a quick look, couldn't figure out where it was locked up, but you quickly showed me, first search result, and I got it back operational in minutes. Same Exact Problem on mine. Perfect. Thank you! Vids like yours make life so much better. Problems solved!
@johnbrink42354 жыл бұрын
Wow, exact same problem for me. Kept getting the "clean" signal, and I did a thorough cleaning and reassembly but realized the end of the brush that is supposed to spin was not at all. Couldn't figure it out cuz the plug at the end with the orange disk is ribbed precisely to prevent spinning. Didn't realize the orange disk spins separately. Followed your advice both with pliers and WD40. Thanks man, your first video was a huge help.

You da man! I gave the assembly a tug with pliers just like you demonstrated and it freed up with a satisfying click. Botvac is back online!

Amazing. Totally fixed my Neato 5 years on. The dirt that was coming out of this after flooding it with W-40 was crazy. I can see there's some debris behind the orange cap spinning around after doing my cleaning and that looks like what is catching it a bit still when I spin it manually. [I can see someone else posted that they popped the orange cap off - might try that later to get it fully cleaned out.] Tested it back out in the vac tho and that doesn't seem to both the gear/motor anymore. So all fixed! I flooded it from the top of the black tube as you described and then was spinning and pumping it up and down. Out the orange end came so much dirt!
@13898557 жыл бұрын
This it TOTALLY my problem. Thank you for posting. When I popped it back out so it could spin, all kinds of dust/debris came out too. It seems like this is a design flaw. Thank you for getting my NEATO running again!!

omg. You're so wise, smart, and awesome! I thought my vacuum's motor was dying. And the neato support only told me to get a new brush, and I worried the motor was dead. Your solution is the fix, plus I had to clean the gunk inside the bearing too, it was not rotating. Now my vacuum runs fine. Haha.

Awesome Thankyou! One good pull of the pliers and felt a click. Freed up immediately and working perfect. When I turn by hand it does feel grainy inside, shame it can’t be taken apart to fully clean it out.

Thanks so much!. The only error message I got was "I'm stuck". I cleaned it from top to bottom and it still would stop when it came right out of the charger and was starting up. My gear was also stiff. Blew it out with air. Sprayed in dry silicon lube. Loosened it up by hand and used my drill lightly chucked up to give it a good spin while spraying in lubricant. Works again!

Thanks for doing this video. I cleaned the brush and that didn’t make a difference. Eventually clued in that the brush wasn’t turning but had no idea how to fix that problem. I might have broken the end piece if I hadn’t watched this first. Cheers.
@NewMediaDirection8 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the help! Worked perfectly. I believe if you pull the "cap" off the brush every so often and remove dirt/hair build up this will be less likely. Basically you're slowly bushing that piece to the edge until it jams - remove the build up more often and you'll push this problem off or avoid it completely.

This worked perfectly, thanks! I still found it was grinding so I went one step further and ran a thin cutting blade in between the two edges. This pulled out a bunch of debris that would have eventually bound up. A little WD-40 and we are back in business. Now to pour another cup of coffee and get some housework done.

Add another happy Neato user to your list! This was my problem too and your video was perfect. Once I got the disc to release, I used some canned air to clean it out and that worked. Reassembly came with a short term grinding sound so definitely going to follow up with the lubricant on the bearing and maybe order a new brush.
