Hey Gregory, My names Dan and I’ve been a painter in California for 12 years and I’ve learned many things from your videos. We use different products but your methods are top notch. Thank you for these videos. I hope you’re doing well and everything is ok, would love to see some new videos from you. I’m sure you’re a busy guy. Thanks again!

Thank you for that. It's great you have found my videos useful. I'm overseas at the moment and hopefully will find some new motivation to do some more videos in the near future.

Have you made a video on stripping paint off copper gutters before? What's the best way?
@ThePa1nterhowto Жыл бұрын
No, I've never encountered them, I believe a high-pressure water blast would be my way.

Best Ceiling paint to stop mold
@ThePa1nterhowto2 жыл бұрын
It depends on the house, if it just one small room like a bathroom or bedroom, Id use a premium external low sheen like Taub all- weather or Dulux weather-shield. If its all of the ceilings in a large house,but the most expensive ceiling flat with mould inhibitor in it or add your own.

Hi. Nice work.I assume the original source of the leak has been sorted out? I've found the Zinnser Bin Sealer - Shellac - is awesome for stain blocking. 1 coat, dry in about 5 mins and absoulutely blocks any stain. Expensive but a little goes a long way...

Yes the original leak was a toilet vent rubber.

Hey Greg, just wondering what kind of roller you use on walls? I’m currently using the euro roller 16mm nap but finding they sometimes leave a textured finish
@ThePa1nterhowto2 жыл бұрын
Its a tough one,if you used a fine roller sleeve ,it takes to long and doesn't put enough paint on. Try using two rollers out at the same time, one with a long nap to apply the paint and another short nap for a beautiful finish. After you try this you will never go back.

Hi mate was wondering if you could reccomend a method for dealing with uneven plaster where walls meet ceiling. I'm struggling to get straight line plus i seem to hit the ceiling here and there because of the uneven surface which looks horrible when you look up from the the ground . Any advice appreciated mate
@ThePa1nterhowto2 жыл бұрын
By using a lighter color you can prevent that problem but if you cant do that,you need to keep your cutting in straight, I like to touch the cornice slightly when I'm cutting and apply a nice straight line there. Its a problem we all get, even if we are good at cutting in. Thin your paint out, use a bigger brush and load more paint on your brush so it flows easier.

@@ThePa1nterhowto wee bit of lime does the same, sets filler fast.

You can also crush up plasterboard (gypsum) into a dust and add it to cornice cement or base coat and it will make it go off quicker. 👍
