I killed an imac by accident while repairing it rossmann style but as an "authorized apple tech". The lady had not much money in the first place. I felt so bad that i (as an employee) bought her a brand new computer. She returned to the shop later and thanked my boss for the company’s job. After he found out in the system that i bought an iMac recently, he just said that our company would have provided a new one for free when a tech messed up. No matter how it’s repaired ( it was out of warranty and of course the local Apple Store didn’ help this customer. Long story short: boss gave me my 2k back. We gained a lot of customers from the place she worked and recognized us that we made more money than we lost by doing a "free repair" and we didn’t pay for local ads. She told all her friends to buy from us. See, apple? What a shame to kill someone’s expensive stuff and not even provide a solution

Such a shame for this poor owner. It really grinds my gears seeing repair shops do this. I know from experience that the circuit directly underneath the HDMI encoder has 1.1v, 3.3v and 5v lines running all the way through. Some of them go to the HDMI circuit, there's also some going to the Infineon audio controller and some going to F7002. If you want me to, I can dig through a scrap board layer by layer in that area and map out those circuits for jumper wires to be run and bridged across? Also out of curiosity did you ever manage to fix the 13 PS5s revisit or still a work in progress?

@@ells5656 There's nothing "rightly so" about it and it makes zero sense. You can trace everything on a good board and reverse engineer it if you wanted to find vulnerabilities. It still doesn't give you access to the software internals and its source code, not to mention that the most secure servers running the whole internet are open-source based, meaning you and I can read every single line of code and find "vulnerabilities". Every console's been hacked by now and you can play pirated games on 'em. I'm pretty sure it doesn't get worse than this. How did people manage to do that *without* any info from Sony???
