What's the thread pitch of those long screws going into the flywheel? I was able to get a 5/16-18 and 5/16-24 bolts started, but then they'd get hard to turn, and thus couldn't figure out what size bolts are supposed to be able to screw down into those holes?

I have kohler ch22s on my carpet cleaning machine. But i have to keep the machine battery conected to my van batteryvin order to run it. Do i have to get a new alternator or do u think this will fix my problem?

Yobany Martinez If the engine battery will not stay charged then we would suspect a problem with the alternator. Some model will also feature a regulator.

Could a bad stator cause a regulator to fail? It was producing 21VDC on the B+, replaced the regulator and got the same result, yes I made sure the ground to the regulator was good.

The output of a regular depends on charge of the battery. If the battery is getting low on charge, the regulator will increase the amount of current to charge the battery. If the battery is fully charged, the output current will decrease. The voltage will vary depending on the engine speed. You should be getting about 12 volts out of the alternator wire at the higher rpm range. We're assuming this is a 12 volt system with a 12 volt battery. As the rpm lowers on the engine, the voltage will decrease. The alternator would have to be wrong to get the wrong voltage. If the alternator were shorted, you would get less or no voltage out. The magnets also have an effect on how much voltage you get. For further troubleshooting, you'll need to research using your engine and lawn mower model numbers.

All you have to do is lose up the bolt a little put a crow bar under flywheel and take a hammer and hit the bolt while pushing up on the flywheel much faster
