Hiya, st,RS specialist here, I’m so glad to see someone on KZbin building an RS finally as not many documented , with the paint the base green is darker, the mid is a light green with pearl this brings it to the correct colour, the clear is just normal clear. But needs the mid to make it the same shade for ultimate green or it will be to dark and not pearly enough, also if you need any parts hit me up. Cheers

A little tip for the inner tie rods, if your replacing for new with the spanner groove on. Run a quick weld over the old ball joint on the inner tie rod then you can turn the tie rod to undo the complete unit from the steering rack

Nice work Dean. The slight difference in paint I wondered if Ford use a different colour primer for the green cars. I seem to remember this used to happen on earlier cars. Others will know more. This will be a very nice piece of kit when finished. Great video Dean. Cheers, Bob

Nice work Dean, coming along really well. Heads up though, there is a huge RS tax on the arch liners, as the boys over at Evil GT found out recently. Over £650 per corner I think it was. Eye watering when you realise that it’s just 1.5 ST liners riveted together.
@hithere8699 Жыл бұрын
I went to buy one of these in UG a few years back now, Main Ford Delaer in Leciester, described as mint, but I could see staright away a bash had occured OSR corner due to the paint - the colour seemed to match quite well but as you looked atthe are at different angles, it looked so odd, revealing the area of damage. Once I spotted the repaired area the car dealer (sales man) walked off. So professional... So yes, interested to see how the paint comes out...

Dean enjoying the content as for the dead battery if your charger has 24v output try putting it on 24 v and connect to the battery off the car obviously and run the charger on max 24 for about four to five minutes the battery plates will be covered in a layer of calcium oxide which acts like an insulator by using 24 volts you boil the battery electrolyte which starts the oxide layer to break up on the plates after the 24 volt stint put it on a 12 volt charge on the lower setting for an hour and then you can check to see if it has saved the battery 9 times out of ten it works

Great progress Dean. Insurance companies are too quick to write off cars with repairable damage
@Mac_F87 Жыл бұрын
It’s not just the cost of repairing damage though, it’s the whole claim cost. They factor in courtesy car cost as well as everything else. The price cars are fetching at salvage auctions doesn’t help either. Makes more sense for them to write them off and recoup money at auction rather than repair.

Dunno what it is about these ‘modern’ performance fords but they just don’t spark my interest like an 80/90s RS Escort or Sierra cossy. Or am I just turning into an old fart? 🤣 In any case Dean another superb piece of content and love the fact you even include full bore noddy mistakes like the battery cable when most ‘tubers would probably edit that out - class mate and only adds to the genuine nature of the content you produce.
