Repairing the Fuel Pump and Sending Unit on a Vulcan 900

I had to repair the fuel sending unit and replace the electric fuel pump on the 2008 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Classic LT. This video shows the process that I went through to complete the work.

Dad gave me his 2007 vulcan. It only has 5000 miles on it. I got new tires and a tune up then i got to the old gas. 10 year old full gas tank. It ruined everything inside. Ethanol literally ate everything and i had to buy a new pump kit and a level sending unit. Il never store a bike with fuel in it after seeing the damage. Store them with Ethanol free of no gas at all!

hi i bought a 2010 Vulcan 900 and i had the same issue with the tank and i went and cleaned and sealed it with the same product pro15 but now im having issues when accelerating like it doesnt have power sometimes it shuts down. One step i missed was not checking the injectors. Should i use seafoam a try?

The unknown component may be a capacitor, dc motors often use a capacitor for startup, it’s an energy storage device. Just a thought.

Not sure, normally the electric fuel pumps don't need a starting capacitor.
