I absolutely love listening to your sermons pastor Yankee, it's such a blessing honestly. I'm renovating an old stone house, it comforts me, the psalms or your sermons in my ears. They help me with negative thoughts. Today I prayed for some people I couldn't get out of my head, we had a dog incident, I was so hateful in my thoughts, after praying it pretty much just stopped. Hope you are feeling better pastor, may God bless you. I believe there is a special place in heaven for someone like you 🙏🕊️

“repenting of or confessing your sins”… as 1 John 1:9 is a condition for believers to have “fellowship” with God (1 John 1:3, 6, 7) as a child of God (1 John 2:1), not a means to be born again for the unsaved (John 1:12-13). And while one must see he is a sinner before a holy God in order to see his need of a Saviour, the solution is not confessing ones sins to God. Instead, it is believing that Christ made full payment for your sins upon the cross (1 John 2:2, 4:9-10). Otherwise, how many sins must you repent of, how often, in what areas, and how perfectly in order to know you are saved? Confusing, isn’t it? One must repent (change their mind) about trusting Jesus Christ versus something else.

Please stop the rhetoric!!! To repent as in repent and be Baptized, SIMPLY MEANS, turn towards God away from self and endure the suffering that results. It’s that simple! Jesus is the way! The way of the cross. Self must die. And that’s going to hurt. Just like Jesus and our brothers that followed. The deception is our will. Satan is our will every time it’s against The Word...JESUS IS THE WORD pray 🙏🔑✌️

I was born again at age 20, when people stopped by our home in Buffalo, New York in 1985. They preached this simple gospel of repentance and I prayed with them to trust in Christ alone as my Saviour. God will draw you to himself in many ways, sometimes by placing strangers in your daily path.😊🎚️🙏🏻

Your definition of repentance is not biblical. God repented 39 times and He never sinned. The phrase “ repent of or 4:28 from your sins” is NOT in scripture. There is a lot of false teachings about repentance. We need look at what the Bible says about it.

To anyone still confused about biblical repentance, I offer you this: 1. Turning from sin is works (P1) To turn from sin is to keep the law • This should be a fairly obvious point but I’ll go ahead and provide scriptural basis: • (1 John 3:4, 1 John 5:17, James 2:9-11) (P2) Keeping the law is works • (Romans 9:32, Galatians 2:16, Galatians 3:2, Galatians 3:5, Galatians 3:10) (C) Turning from sin is works 2. We are saved by grace, not works (P1) Salvation is by grace through faith • Throughout the Bible we find examples of this but here’s a short list: • (Ephesians 2:8-9, John 3:16, John 6:47, Philippians 3:9, Acts 16:31, Romans 3:24, Acts 10:43) (P2) Faith does not include the works of the law, they are not attached • This should also be obvious but we also need to provide scriptural basis for this: • (Romans 4:5, Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 11:6, Romans 3:28, Galatians 2:16) (C) Salvation is by faith through grace and excludes works 3. Salvation does not involve a turning from sin (P1) Turning from sin is works (P2) Salvation excludes works (C) Turning from sin is not a requirement for salvation 4. Evidence is not required for salvation (P1) If “true” salvation will always result in good works, then those who do not produce works after salvation were not really saved • This premise must be true in and of itself. If salvation always produces works afterward then if works are not produced after salvation, the person was never really saved. The law of non-contradiction (a cannot be equal to not-a) proves this premise. (P2) If the ones who were “truly saved” were the ones that produced works, then salvation depends ultimately on works • This follows clearly from the first premise. If only the people producing works after salvation are saved, then the ones who do not produce works are not saved even though they both believed the same thing. • Therefore both believe the same thing and works produced are the only differentiating quality between the saved and unsaved, salvation ultimately would depend on works. (P3) Salvation does not depend on works • This premise is proved thoroughly by arguments 1-3 (C) Saving faith does not always produce good works after salvation 5. The law of non-contradiction • The law of non-contradiction states that “a cannot be equal to not-a” (this is not an argument this is simply a philosophical rule) • From here there are two options: a. The Bible can contradict itself b. The Bible cannot contradict itself a. If the Bible can contradict itself, then ultimately we are each left to our own individual interpretation and ultimately there is really no way of being certain what the message of salvation truly is. b. If the Bible cannot contradict itself then we have to interpret verses seeming to require works for salvation in light of what we’ve established above from clear verses saying salvation does not involve works. The arguments above are sound so long as: 1. The premises are true 2. The conclusion follows the premises 1. I proved the premises mostly scripturally (since we are talking about theological ideas which we’re getting from the same book which we consider to be the word of God). Now, though various scriptures are interpreted in many ways by many people It’s important to remember from the law non contradiction that any interpretation of verses which seem to contradict the verses above and the sound arguments made by them cannot be true. 2. I also made the arguments pretty straightforward and short so that it’s easy to see the conclusions do in fact follow the premises
@phillipgoodson2057 Жыл бұрын
No scripture says true faith ALWAYS produces works. Therefore making up human laws inserting words into the Bible is sin and false teaching. The Bible says God will chasten sinning Christians. It also says some will show up at the judgment seat of Christ with no works! That completely disproves your theory. 1 Corinthians 3:15 “If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.” 1 Corinthians 3:13 “Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.”

@kelvinnguyen86867 жыл бұрын
In Psalms King David said this "Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit." From scripture, I understand that you can from the chastening hand of the Lord, he can take away your joy, peace, your life, he can let satan buffet you, cause you to be sick, weak. I personally believe the Lord can do anything to get your attention, it all depends on how hard your heart is to the lord. Your the clay he is the Potter.

He chastened Annanias and Saphira to death. He killed Jonah in the belly of the whale. He killed Uzzah for touching the ark. If you take time to consider how ancient and all powerful God is. And that He knew you before the foundation of the world. You must also consider He will kill you for not responding correctly to His rebuke. The sinning mother and son in Corinth is a great example. 1 Corinthians 5:5 “To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.”

But what about circumcision of the heart? Is that a prerequisite? Or does that happen as a result of believing on Jesus as my Lord.& Savior? At Niniveh, the pagan sinners did extreme repentance & God spared them from His Judgement. They wore sackcloth & ashes. Even their livestock & the King wore sackcloth to demonstrate humility & mourning over their sins against God. EVEN Jesus mentioned them. Why was God pleased with their repentance? Why did Jesus point them out as an example? Repentance is one of the most confusing biblical doctrines. To me. Anyone else confounded?.Do we have to do it everyday? Is it a constant way of living? As a follower of Jesus Christ? Am I supposed to pick up my cross daily?.Mortifying my flesh? Or only believe?

Repentance In The New Testament: "When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." (Mark 2:17) "The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here." (Jesus, in Matthew 12:41) "And lest, when I come again, my God will humble me among you, and that I shall bewail many which have sinned already, and have not repented of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed." (the apostle Paul, 2 Corinthians 12:21) "But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God. Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee." (Acts 8:20-22) "And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts." (Revelation 9:20,21) "And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain, And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds." (Rev 16:10,11) "Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him." (Luke 17:3,4) "And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds." (Revelation 2:21,22) "Likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance." (Luke 15:7) "Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that *repentance and remission of sins* should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem." The word of God does not permit me to allow you to judge me for honoring the Sabbath. Colossians 2:16 “Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:” I have been honoring the Sabbath for a few years now and have been blessed by it. I look forward to it. It is delightful. I am really good at taking a day off! No scripture calls any day but Saturday the Sabbath. It starts in Genesis. Jesus and all the apostles honored it. And there are HUGE blessings associated with honoring it. Isaiah 58:13 “If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:” Isaiah 58:14 “Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.” I am not under the law, nor am I an Old Testament Jew required to kill people. I use the Passage in Isaiah for my guidance. I will pray for you!

Believers will appear before the judgment seat of Christ. All of us are saved. 2 Corinthians 5:10 “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.” 1 Corinthians 3:14 “If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.” 1 Corinthians 3:15 “If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.” The great white throne of judgment is after the millennial kingdom. Revelation 20:11 “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.” Revelation 20:12 “And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.”

Repentance means to TURN AWAY from sin: ”Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God: Repent and TURN AWAY from your idols, and TURN AWAY your faces from all your abominations.” (Ezekiel 14:6) “But if the wicked will TURN FROM ALL HIS SINS that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.” (Ezekiel 18:21-22) “Nevertheless if you warn the wicked to TURN FROM HIS WAY, and he does not TURN FROM HIS WAY, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul.” (Ezekiel 33:9) “Repent therefore, and TURN AGAIN, that your sins may be blotted out...” (Acts 3:19) “Let every one that nameth the name of Christ DEPART FROM INIQUITY.” (2 Timothy 2:19) “LET THE WICKED FORSAKE HIS WAY, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.” (Isaiah 55:7) “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, AND TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” ( 2 Chronicles 7:24) “He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever CONFESSES AND FORSAKES THEM will have mercy.” (Proverbs 28:13) The Apostle Paul preached repentance and then faith (note: repentance first): ”Testifying both to Jews and to Greeks of repentance toward God and of faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Acts 20:21) Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God, and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.” (Mark 1:15) “Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God.” Hebrews 6:1 God Himself commands sinners to repent: ”The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent...” (Acts 17:30) John the Baptist preached repentance: ”Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” (Matthew 3:2) Peter preached repentance: ”Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 2:38) It’s God’s will that sinners repent: ”The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9) Repentance means to willfully sin no more: Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. SIN NO MORE, lest a worse thing come upon you.” (John 5:14) “And Jesus said to her, ‘Neither do I condemn you; GO AND SIN NO MORE.’” (John 8:11)

You guys are very confused. You don't understand the difference between the Kingdom being offered to the House of Israel, which is the gospel of the Kingdom, and the gospel of Jesus Christ, which is to all for salvation. You are mixing both together, and attempting to redefine repentance in the context of salvation, because you don't understand the gospel of Jesus Christ, and as a result, you don't understand the scriptures. That is what you've learned from Reformed Theology. Your teaching people that their righteousness saves them, which is false, because we have no righteousness apart from the righteousness of Jesus Christ. That is why turning from sin for salvation is impossible: we are all sinners by nature: our works cannot save us. Your sin can only be paid for by Jesus Christ, and you must trust in Jesus, not your works, because salvation is only by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ, alone. That is the only way anyone can have assurance of salvation. So, will you guys truly repent toward God with faith toward Jesus Christ? I pray you do.

Living Waters Staff, did you actually listen to the sermon in its entirety before you copy/pasted that response? "...13 He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him.." You need to repent, that is change your mind, of your Calvinist works Lordship Salvation.

Careful.. if you quote the bible saying that you are to know them by their fruits, he will claim you are adding works to salvation.

Doesn’t a have to be either works/fruits for salvation because God knows what you believe A nonbeliever can have good fruits

There is a difference between Christians of whom uphold the laws and the Roman's who did not respect it.

Repent means to turn from unbelief or to turn from a false religion and to put your faith in Jesus.

The Roman's said CHRIST died for sinners and worship Mary. Our Heavenly Father said love thy neighbors and Christ is his son, do you see love in a Thorn Crown that bleeds and others were killed next to Christ , when Our Heavenly Father said thou shall not kill. What part didn't Mary? Our Heavenly Father said love thy God with all thy strength and do not worship false gods or idols. False gods are fallen angels who wanted to be worship as gods of the archangel Gabriel who told her to rename the son of God Messiah to born Jesus Christ without authority from Our Heavenly Father, was it not a twinkling angel that started from the Garden of Eden of what not to do , something like Eve

@ tamika Jackson , The angel Gabriel is Not a Archangel. --- He did Not rename The Name of The LORD YESHUA / JESUS CHRIST. -----******* The ONE LORD YESHUA / JESUS CHRIST HAS BEEN GIVEN ALL AUTHORITY IN HEAVEN ,EARTH & UNDER THE EARTH . Read The GOSPEL OF JOHN . ---- I'm sorry to say that you appear to be a little mixed up as re. The Scriptures. Asto What was stated . ---

Compare with 1 John . The unbeliever is living a life of rebellion and sin . WHEN THEY ARE SAVED THEY REPENT FROM THEIR SINFUL LIFE .YOU DO NOT CONTINUE IN WILFUL SIN . The Laodiceans are lukewarm Christians who are too worldly but think they are fine as they are as long as they do NOT murder steal and commit adultery ,BUT THEY ARE NOT LIVING FOR THE LORD This is like the church today. Satan believes in God but will never repent . 1 John 3 :8 . HE THAT COMMITTETH SIN IS OF THE DEVIL :FOR THE DEVIL SINNETH FROM THE BEGINNING.HE IS TALKING ABOUT WILFULLY CONTINUING IN SIN, NOT PERFECTION . READ THE REST.

The Roman's wrote hundreds of Bibles with false gods between the scripture mainly psalms and gave out their Roman crucifix cross and rubbed subliminal Santa Revelation Chapters 1 14 Old Testament on Christians and wrote the new Testament outside of the Catholic Church to take everyone with them in the lake of fire

This proud man is a deceiver of those that don't love the Lord. Deuteronomy 13:1-3 KJV If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, [2] And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; [3] Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the Lord your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Galatians 1:8 KJV But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

He is setting him and his followers up for many stripes come judgement day. He said in a comment on another post that showing fruits worthy of repentance sounded spiritual and all but wasn't right. It is a verse in the bible. He is a Wolf and these people are too lazy to read their bibles following him right into a ditch.

@@bamagirl1979 One of his recent videos he says that if you judge someone's fruits after they claim salvation, you are adding works to salvation. Jesus tells us to do this. Matthew 7:20-21 KJV Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. [21] Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. The bible clearly teaches a change in lifestyle after salvation. Acts 26:20 KJV But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance. This is also a good verse that demonstrates that repentance is sorrow for sin, not changing of mind.
@bamagirl19795 жыл бұрын
@@Chris-zd8cs 9 Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly manner, that you might suffer loss from us in nothing. 10 For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death. 1 Corinthians 7:9-10 They repented of their sins but then Paul goes on to say that that same type of sorrow is what causes repentance that leads to salvation. Because the church at corinth were saved just very disobedient so if someone wants to argue that verse they would have to say they were then saved twice.
