I'm watching this video a year+ later ahead of a sale, and this is by far and away the most informative rephr review I've ever seen. Showing the brushes next to your eye was a stroke of genius, and the within-group comparisons were supremely helpful. It's clear that you really thought about what someone would want and need to know before purchasing eyeshadow brushes, not just which ones are your favorites. Thank you so much for creating this video that is still bringing so much value to the community!

And btw - why don't more brands show brushes in comparison to eyes in their ads. That is honestly genius.
@ma-ma-mamary39463 жыл бұрын
Legit question. I appreciate that Rephr has the bristle dimensions as well. If they can't get brush-to-eye comparisons, the measurements are the least they can do.

Old comment, but still I think the reason is because different sized eyes and different eye shapes. And you wouldn't know, unless you already know a brand or model, how this relates to your eyes. But measurements should be included, those are universal.

Really glad you included the care tips at the end; I've just started using some rephr brushes and, like you, also knew I needed to handle them with caution but didn't realize that using a color switch of some type is bad practice (I have the silicone Sigma switch pad but it's probably still not a good idea). I've got plenty of microfiber cloths so I'll use that next time.

I prefer Rephr brushes to WG, SG, Chikuhodo, Koyudo, etc. Love that mixed hair used in manufacturing brushes, which makes them not too soft and not too hard ( just right🙂). Love their nice, sufficient collection, good price, but most important -they are AVAILABLE. Whenever some brushes are sold out, they usually promptly restocked. I never had any problems with Rephr. For last couple of years I removed all other brushes from circulation. Thank you, Rephr. Good video, as usual, Milli. This look is so polished, i just love it.

I love Rephr brushes! I bit the bullet and bought some beginnings of the year and they are all I use on my eyes now. Numbers 13,14,02,03,23 and are absolute FAVs! I am gentle when cleaning them and that maybe why I haven’t had them splay out on me yet. Loved the look you did with the Jaguar palette as well x

I love these brushes. The 01 is my favorite; I have two. It’s like the OG MAC 227 for me (my GOAT). I love the 29 as well for precise lining on my upper lash line - I hate to be messy with that. I adore their face brushes even more than the eye brushes, if that’s even possible. Thank you for your review! XOXO Heidi

They’re the Morphe of fude brushes. I totally agree with you about the lower quality compared to other fude brands. Definitely not worth the full price (I would buy Hakuhodo instead). But they’re a good value for what they are, when they’re on sale. My favorite ones are the pencil ones: 23 and 3. I can’t have a confirmation, obviously, but I have 10 years experience with fude and my guess is that these are made by Hakuhodo with lower quality fibers and low quality control. That justifies their lower price. The goat from Hakuhodo brushes is silkier and more delicate, so I would recommend Hakuhodo J series if a correspondent Rephr brush is only available at full price.

I prefer the pro line too & the extra long handled iterations , I wish there were more of those. I’m a hooded girl, much like yourself actually & we seem to lean toward similar styles. The 21 brush was created with Rephr & Mel Thompson because she really missed the synthetic MAC 242 for shimmers, so they created it with her in mind . It’s a great little brush for those shiny, shifty, sparkly shades we love and adore so much. We need midi sizes , AGREED! I love the 19 from WG too! It’s a must have for hooded eyes. That concept store & Mark from Rephr listening to his Fude lovers who know what they like & the smaller shapes are the reason I keep going back! A company with integrity; that matters to me. Fude is very painstaking work hence the cost but worth it. I have a brush that’s 28 years old & going strong! It’s all in how one cares for them. Enjoyed your thoughts very much , thanks Milly! ⚡️

Thank you for this review! It's nice to hear an unbiased opinion. I was close to buying some of their brushes but this review changed my mind, they don't seem to be that special anymore. I'd rather save up and get Sonia G. As a cheaper option I've been loving Zoeva goat hair brushes.

I like Rephr and they are having a big sale coming up so will buy a few more. Thanks for the tips. I have hooded eyes like you so appreciate your knowledge. I haven’t had any fall apart. I just bought some microfiber cloths. Otherwise I have just used Sigma and have one Morphe brush and a few random cheapes. Good enough for me. To me, good quality shadow is very much key.

Thank you for the video! Splayed after washing too much - that's the reason they are not my favorite. And the matte handle 😉😆 Also I had two 21 brushes and I noticed inconsistencies in quality of bristles alignment - one came lopsided. Not sure if I will buy more of these. I will probably get only number 13. Wayne's brushes mostly pointed but I like to have at least few dome shaped ones.

I got the bundle with nr 1-5 two years ago and they're great and 1 is great to buff lower lashline when you want it blown out but not too much or getting into your crease to really deepen it. PS I wipe my natural hair brushes on my arm or my sweatpants😅

I love my rephr brushes. I find the 13,14, 21, and 3 the most useful, but I'm also fond of the 12, 1, and 2. I don't use the 15 much, to be honest, or the 26. Besides the softness, I love how much easier natural fiber brushes are to clean. I hate the way synthetic brushes stain. And properly cared for, they last for years. I also use the flat goat hair brushes for packing color on the outer corner.

I love natural hair (especially undyed goat hair) brushes, and I was super excited about Rephr. However, I definitely have to say, while they're not bad, they're not the same quality as many of my other brushes. That said, when they're on sale I do recommend them as kind of like a "Baby's first Fude" since they're not a massive investment compared to say Wayne Goss, Sonia G. Hakuhodo, and Chikuhodo. When they're on sale, they're cheaper than other fude brands, so if you mess up and destroy the brush by treating it like a synthetic brush you're only out about half the money you would be if you did that to a higher quality brush. I also appreciate that their range and line is easier to navigate for a beginner than some other brands. However if you were going to spend full price on Rephr, I would just suggest to go with Sonia G or Wayne Goss as at that point they're basically the same upfront cost, and equally easy to navigate.

I’ve tried quite a few rephr brushes and I was so disappointed. They’re not as soft as synthetic. I’m a sucker for soft brushes. Currently, my favorite brushes are from BK beauty. They’re gorgeous and they feel so luxe. Rephr brushes feel cheap to me.
@yulianagonzalez24282 жыл бұрын
😲😲seriously I own the BK full collection and I want to add the Rephr because my ytuber said the Rephr are way better 🤔🤔🤔
@M3GPie2 жыл бұрын
@@yulianagonzalez2428 yeah. That’s why I got some rephr, but I regret it. They aren’t as soft, and they tend to make everything look more pigmented. It’s helpful if you have something extremely subtle that needs to be built up, but for me, I 100% prefer BK. If you like more pigmented looks then you might prefer rephr. I’m extremely fair though so that might be a factor as well.
@batacumba Жыл бұрын
Lol that’s the point, soft doesn’t apply certain products as well at all. I’m currently really frustrated with my synthetic brushes for this reason and need to pick up some natural fiber brushes. You need the more toothsome nature of natural fibers to pick up a lot of flakier or chunkier shades. Yeah it doesn’t feel as pleasant on the eye but it’s necessary for certain products in order to get the best result.
