No one knows brushes like Alicia! I’m intrigued by the prototype concealer #2. I also appreciate the specific brands you use with specific brushes. So helpful!

I am happy to see they improved the fibers, my complain was that we really didn’t care about the brushes actually looking like goat hair, we just wanted soft fibers that we could use with liquids and feel confident that it won’t harm them, and my sensitive skin didn’t like them!

What really jumped out at me with these brushes was the way they both really grabbed those Danessa Myricks products. They both picked up a lot of color in one swipe and diffused it well on the face and the lids. It made me think that some of the missteps I've seen from other reviewers of that palette is that they aren't using the right tools. What do you think?💚
@aliciaarcher6 ай бұрын
Agreed, and why I was happy to see her collaboration with Mykitco! I also love to experiment, and not give up easily when I encounter issues with pick up. If Rephr created something smaller than the foundation brush, then it would be PRIME for the velvet pomades 😍

This is such an important point! It’s frustrating to see people give negative reviews for good products because they don’t realise they’re using the wrong type of tool or application method. It’s definitely a learning curve (I’m still on it!) but I wish some channels would at least try different types of brush, sponge etc. before writing something off.

@@alnsubuga Well said. When I first bought Sonia G brushes, it really opened my eyes. I pulled out my expensive, disappointing, but too expensive to throw out, cosmetics and tried them with Sonia G. They went from mistakes to favorites in a blink.

I guess I'm one of the few people who liked the first prototype 😅haha. I love the high density of the foundation brush; I feel like it distributes the product flawlessly. Despite popular criticism, I adore the concealer brush precisely because my concealers are very dense, and few brushes were able to distribute all the product under my eyes (I often resorted to using foundation brushes). The one I haven't tried much is the cream eyeshadow brush, but I love the first set... I'm eagerly looking forward to the second one!😍

I was wondering why I hadn’t seen any reviews on this new prototype synthetic brushes, I love my natural hair brushes but there are times I want synthetic so I don’t have to be as careful with cleaning them. I had to do a search and found your video, wonder why it never came across my feed, anyhoo, I just ordered them. Thank you for being our brush Queen.❤❤
@traciewarren10706 ай бұрын
I got the first prototype prior to watching your video and I agree they were just ok and needed improvement, as they were very dense and the hairs needed to be cut to be more user friendly! I use them because I have them, not because they are favorites by any means. I probably use the flat one the most to apply primer or even color fix to my lids and work well for that purpose. I’m excited to try this set when it is launched as I appreciate Rephr’s responsiveness to customer feedback.

Hi Alicia & friendz👋, has anyone else had problems w/their recent Rephr natural bristle eyeshadow brush purchases? I've been happily buying & using Rephr since even before their Kickstarter. Unfortunately, I'm having problems w/my most recent purchases, the Mini/Maxis & #33. I bought them as Christmas presents to myself, along w/the Maki face brush. Due to unexpected surgery, I've only just been able to start using them, & I'm SHOCKED. Almost ALL of my Maxi brushes are effed up, & so are 2 of my Minis & my #33😳. It almost looks like a hatchet job or bad haircut...w/uneven, asymmetrical, pokey, & weirdly splayed bristles. Some of the bristles themselves are off too. Some frizzy & almost crimped looking, while others look almost too smooth, like synthetic fibers!?! I'm going to contact them asap, I'm just wondering if this is a sign of scaling problems? Or perhaps I was just unlucky & received a wonky set? 🤔🤷🏻♀️ Edit: I've only had problems w/eye brushes, my Maki is exquisite.

I always love your brush videos. OTOH, I won’t buy them. I feel there is no reason to bother with these. I really enjoy the new Danessa Myricks X MyKitCo brushes (cough, I’m such a fan, I bought the whole set.) So soft - best synthetic brushes I own. Second best would be Sydney Grace. Don’t have the fancy brush you have, but I do have BK Beauty brushes, most Sonia G fusion brushes (and natural hair brushes), some Wayne Goss natural hair brushes, and way too expensive Sephora brushes…
@brabalans3486 ай бұрын
Wow they have really copied the shapes this time of one of Sonia G’s foundations brushes for the foundation brush and the concealer brush has the same shape as the concealer brush from Angie “hot and flashy’s” set for BK beauty… rephr is officially going IKEA stealing away from great designers and creators…. I am not sure I feel ok about that… As of course they will be nice since they are inspired by the pro’s… but do we want to be about that life?🤔
@aliciaarcher6 ай бұрын
Rephr released a slanted brush with natural hair two years ago, and Sonia’s brush doesn’t have the same degree of slant in her Jumbo Base. Also remember, they made these choices based off feedback they received from us. Generally, slanted designs are more popular as they are effective for pick up and blend. And I would argue, that the concealer brush is smaller and more narrow than the A506. So you can see it as copying, or as an opportunity to improve upon what’s already out there. To answer your question, we were the ones who suggested that the brushes had more of a slant.
