Can always tell someone knows their job by the tools they carry . Veto pro pac bags are the best. And again can't thank you enough for making these vids and getting my interest into HVAC in it for three years now. Thanks Zack

Knipex pliars, flat or pipe versions are very good. Not quite as heavy duty as i'd like. Just a little more beef and pinch needed. It mostly replaces wrenches.

I use sandpaper on my rusty shafts. Then aerokroil. We used to use that stuff to get Jen engines apart. It’s good stuff. It even smells good in the shop.

Good work Zac, I like the idea of the wire brush, oil and crescent wrench to free the motor, never thought of the brush part. Thanks.

Great video. We don’t have a choice when it comes to the variable speed motors. It’s the motor and control head. Can’t get just the head.

HVAC equipment costs have gone up 100% in the last four years. While all but seven manufacturers have moved their assembly plants to Mexico or China for an 80% reduction and labor cost. Quality and customer service are ridiculous nowadays. Guess who’s benefiting? The suits at corporate headquarters for the manufacturers and the distributors. I can get the same equipment online for the same price.

LIFEHACK!…. Use a service wrench tool for the setscrew on the blower wheel. You’re welcome lol also, I have a thing about just replacing the motor and not the blower wheel. I feel that it’s best to replace the blower wheel with the motor for a perfect balance and longevity of both components. Awesome video.

Nice video but I’m really surprised you didn’t replace the capacitor with a new motor.

Zach, What is your opinion on Heil Packaged Heat Pump Units? My parents once had a Heil Packaged Heat Pump installed in 1994. It was the type with the rounded front coils. It also had a 12 SEER rating. The unit was really great back then and they never had any issues. I know things today aren't built as good as they were in the past, but I have wondered how good Heil is today. Thanks

My distributor just lost American Standard made in Tyler Texas. Quality has gone downhill since Ingersoll rand bought them. Now they’ve gone to Airtemp…made in Mexico, except for some package units. I also have a distributor selling Heil. What do you think of Heil equipment nowadays??? 90% heat pumps where I’m at. Thank you for the info.

The video is respectable but instead of using that clamp you should use a 3/8 socket that engine spiders regularly use. But first lubricate so that when removing the screw it is more gentle. and to remove or detach the fan motor from the blower, some people sand, I use a brush that can be adapted to the impact drill and the lubricant I use is transmission oil mixed with acetone, the kind they use for nails, it is prepared in parts equals. For the rest, the tool brands are respectable.

Kroil is junk. I'm finally saying it after so much hype and revere by old men. It is not good. wd lubricates, kroil does not. It does penetrate but hasn't saved many bolts from breaking. I'd switch to liquid wrench or anything else. Except PB that is junk too.
