Is alway more economical to replace the bearing? It seems like it may be cheaper with labor to just replace the pump? How long does this repair take you when not filming?

If you have to pay someone maybe.. Not filming I can do the whole thing in 20 minutes at the most at your house.. In the ship faster than that..

My impeller broke off the shaft and all I have left is that brass fitting. ive tried to break it free with vicegrips but its not moving and starting to take off some of the threads. do I need to get a torch and apply heat then try to remove the fitting next?

Yes some heat.. Go easy many times when you get to that pint the threads break off and you are done.. Most of the brass knurls are 1/2" Hex for a socket but not all..

Just got my motor apart to replace the bearings and it looks like a loose staple from the cabinet got eaten by the motor. Motor works, but the fan behind the front bearing is destroyed. Is it possible to source the fan?

Would i be able to remove the 2 bearings without the drill and attachment? Maybe with a hammer and chisel to remove the old bearings?

I have a aquaflow 2hp flomaster xp2e and I need to order bearings. Both of my bearings read 6203rlbd on them by peer. Are they 2 different sizes? I see you have 2 different bearings listed above.

Bobvilla, There are two different sizes. the one with the tape measure in the picture fits almost every motor but there are exceptions and but an Xp2e would defiantly not be an exception.. hottubpartsofamerica.com/motor-bearing-deluxe-high-quality-6203-fits-most-but-not-all-motors/ is the correct one.. Thankyou for doing this video. I have replace the motor 3 times I'm three years. I think this is more than I have time to do. But great information to Kno. I am not going to buy another waterway brand. Gonna try a gecko this time and see if I have better service

We offer both brands but Waterway I pretty good having a failure in several years would be unusual..

Thank you sir. I did this bearing replacement. Your instructions were great. The switch mechanism doesn’t engage. I have have to help it with a flat tip screwdriver to get it turning. What now ? Thank you

Check to see if you bent the metal 2 speed switch in the back when you pulled the rotor out.. If it is a metal finger and you bend the finger it will not start on low.. The finger should be straight..

Hi, I followed this and got to the point where I have to put new bearings on. The old ones were NSK 6203DU and fit tight. The new ones are also NSK 6203DU and they are loose, as in too loose. They just slide right on. The numbers are the same. What the heck? Pump is an Aquaflo XP.

Greg 6203 is like a 350 chevy engine it is a designation for a design not a size.. Meaning there are 100's of 6203 bearings... Like a 350 Chevy there are many versions of the 350 chevy motor.. On the bearing is it a designation of a type of bearing not a size.. most likely this is the correct bearing.. hottubpartsofamerica.com/motor-bearing-high-quality-6203-15-9mm-fits-some-motors/
