Replacing blend door actuator on 2006 dodge charger

If your having trouble with the heat and/or AC staying on.and not switching over. This should fix the problem . You should be hearing a clicking noise fro. The dash. Replacing blend door actuator on driver side and passenger side.

Changed one of mine out yesterday. I have a 2006 Dodge Charger RT. It has 2 on the driver side and 2 on the passenger side behind the glove compartment. The 2 on the passenger side are extremely close to each other.

I need to change mine out on the driver side of my 06, how difficult is getting the dash paneling on and off?

@nicholashastings6370 It's fairly simple. Similar to what he said in this video. Just push in the side of the compartment on each side to allow the compartment to come unlatched from behind, and it'll drop down. Then you'd just need to pull it outward.

Only way, is to take under the dash apart. Turn the car on and feel which one is clicking. You'll be able to feel it.

Yes, they are not supposed to free spin. The broken ones will.

Great video, but I'm not sure if it will help me. My 06 Magnum R/T A/C will work ok at low speeds (mph) as soon as I get over 50 mph only hot air comes through. I can switch all the vents from defrost to the floor just fine. Is there another door that switches the hot to cold? where would that be?

When installing the new unit, how do I tell what position the door is in to match the spindle to the new one?

I would say it has to to with your cooling/heating system. Maybe not enough freon, or to much. But I don't think it has to do with the doors.

@@TeargasHorse that's a tricky one. So you have to watch which way the motor moves before you put thw actuator on.

@@BreakdownswithBrian I had the freon topped off, and it was low, but no effect. I replaced the door, and that did fix the problem.

How were you able to determine the passenger side blend door was not the problem? My passenger side blows hot, and driver side blows cold.

One is for hot and cold, one is for which direction the air blows.

I have a 2006 charger with dual zone climate. The driver side ac works perfectly fine, it's the passenger side ac that comes out hot no matter what the temperature is set to. Am I just gonna need to change the blend door actuator on the passenger side only?

Most of the time it's because you don't have enough charge in the ac. And if you do, then you should have it vacuumed out and recharged

I have an 07 pursuit charger. I don't hear any clicking...defrost button doesn't work. blower works great. just cant change my temp in the car or direction🤔. And while blower is off nothing but heat is coming through while I drive. I've already replaced the climate control unit fyi......any idea's

You don't have to hear clicking, it could be completely broken. Will just have to look at them.

Well, it could be that you're coolant it low. But it should be the one under the driver side if I can recall.

If it's clicking you can hear which side. And then you can turn it on when having your hand on it. You'll definitely feel it

OK here comes the funny part. You only thought it was a problem child when you were taking it off. It turned into the hell child putting it back together. I didn’t have any problem getting it off. It was the putting it back together that takes spaghetti arms I’m laying on your back in the floorboard. That is unless you want to remove the dash shell. I sure did not want that. But that’s Chrysler crisis for you. I took an entire Dash out of a 87 Toyota 4x4 pick up, I would do that again before I would get into one of these.
