What if I don't have compressed air? What can I use to ensure no debris goes into the spark plug tubes and into the cylinders? would a shop vac be sufficient?

You could use electronics duster, you know, the compressed air in a can?

So a regular spark plug socket doesn’t work? Can u explain what rubber u used

Regular spark plug sockets already have a rubber ring inside. However, I only had the most common size and it was too big for these plugs. I didn't wanna drop everything and run to the store, so I found a piece of rubber that fit in the smaller socket. You could use a piece of fuel hose or any ring-shaped piece of rubber. Or you could just buy a spark plug socket in the correct size. :)

I know some people change coils at the same time, any reason you didn't?

I'm no pro but, from my understanding, the coil packs don't wear out at the same rate as the spark plugs. I would only replace them if I was experiencing a misfire but that might not be the proper recommendation.

Would you suggest changing spark plugs 45,000 miles on a 2021 Mazda 6 grand turbo.

I'm no pro, I just follow the manufacturer's recommendations in the manual. It's 40k for some and 75k for other, depending on the engine type.

Do you have to have a torque wrench?

A torque wrench is a very handy tool to have, especially when you're first starting out with vehicle maintenance. I'm no pro but it's my opinion that you don't need a torque wrench for this job, just be sure not to over tighten the new plugs. Breaking a plug inside the engine is going to cost you a lot more money than a torque wrench would have.

engine cold, remove and replace one plug at atime, fewer holes to drop things into ! insert new plug on lenght of fuel hose and engage threads with finger force , misaligned thread will cause hose to slip on plug, no stripped thread. tighten to spec with ratchet.

To each their own but that seems overly complicated since you'd need a spark plug socket to get the plug out of the tube. So, if you already have that socket, why reinstall with a fuel hose?

No, you can buy little anti-seize (for the threads) and silicone (for the boots) packets at any auto parts store for $1 (more than enough for 1 job) or you can buy larger containers.

@@legacy90 use nothing on the threads. NGK specifically recommends against it
