This video shows how to install brake pads on a B9 S4/S5. I installed EBC Yellow Stuff Brake Pads. Job is actually easy to do but can be a little difficult the order the vehicle gets. Check out my new website link is below. I designed it myself and I'm proud of it!
As always this is not really a tutorial on how to install parts. It's just my journey of installing parts. If you like the content I make please consider hitting the like button and subscribing if you want to support me.

Great video! Other videos don’t really address trouble shooting or difficulties in the process. Thanks!

Congrats, Rick, and thanks for the brake video! I've never done brakes before and this install doesn't look too bad. Manageable anyway.

Turning the steering wheel to make more room and the caliper closer to you makes the job a lot easier.. Plus you can see better every bolt you need to access.

Fantastic video breaking down the process, especially with all the different camera angles. I imagine this would also apply to a 2022 s5?

Yes it would as I have done it on the b9.5 before

Awesome! Do you happen to have a video replacing the rear brake pads? That would also be very helpful. I’ve seen from other videos where I will need an obd tool to retract the emergency parking brake but some don’t use one.

Thanks for another good vid man! Notice any difference in braking or dust? Was looking at those pads as well. PS, congrats on the new addition to the family!

Thanks! Much appreciated. I'm still in the break in stage. They say it can take up to 500 miles before they are broken in. I'll do an update post to this video when that time has come.

@@StreetRyde following up to this, any difference? Also how are the brakes overall compared to stock pads? Final question, why yellow and not red ebc? Thanks!

@kassem277 the Yellow stuff pads made to much dust for my liking so I. On a R1 Concept street pads. Very low dust and decent bite!

Good stuff. I'm going to need to do mine pretty soon. Everyone always asking about pads on the forums ha. Did you say how many miles you had on the OEM pads? Maybe I missed it. I think you can use ODBeleven for the pistons. Congrats Dad!
@StreetRyde

You only need OBD11 for the rear brakes. I believe the pads where the originals so about 47,000 miles on them

@@StreetRyde Ahh thanks for the info. 47K wow.. that is interesting. Seems many changing around 25-28K, but lot of factors in driving style. I have pretty low miles for an '18 @ 24K so that is kind of good to hear.

Do you recommend oem brake pads or ceramic. Just put new OEM and squealing is crazy. Known issue going on with the pads. Dealer giving run around.

My OEM brake pads made so much dust and noise I hated them. I love for r1 ceramic for the noise and the amount of dust. Decent performance.

Congrats!! As for the brakes, how is the break in period going? Any squeaks or squeals coming from them? I’m nervous to daily on them due to the possible noise factor

There is noise with these brakes but you can help limit the noise with proper cleaning and applying copper grease to brake shims

Do you have any squeak or squeal when daily driving? Are they fully bedded in at this point as ebc recommends. I want these pads really bad for occasional track use, but I'm not willing to have insane squealing on the road.
@StreetRyde
@StreetRyde 2 жыл бұрын
The Yellow brake will make noise as they lean more track use. This is by design. Great track breaks but for daily cold breaking they are noisy

You didn’t clean the calibers, or add grease to anything smh! Not a good video, cause not greasing all the parts and cleaning can cause a lot of squealing and friction.

You could clean the pads with whatever you got. These pad gonna squeak loud. They are racing pads. Either way you are right I didn't clean or use grease on them or many of my changes and I have had no noise issues with normal pad. Whatever works for you do it.
