Nice to see you both 👍👍. Good job you stopped James putting more bushes on his fingers 😂. That's the trouble with these fancy light controls cost a fortune to repair .👍👍👍

Good to see videos coming out again. What the wiring on those switches, is it a bus or just loop Live cable across each switch?

James shouldn’t be sticking his finger anywhere near a 25 year old bush 😂

How do you switch on the lights in each room, Chris?
@Cjrelectrical22 күн бұрын
You can program up new switches with scenes. Voice control via Alexa or similar or use the app on phone or tablet. You can also setup timers and scenes for different times of the day.

Why are they powered through a rotary isolator ? Why can’t you use an unswitched fused spur ?
@Shanky_TH954023 күн бұрын
no point ramming a 10.0mm into a spur when they've down rated the mcb to a 10a I guess

Wouldnt a sub main panel have been a better choice? each circuit on their own rcbo then for discrimination and no need for the rotary.

Must have cost a fortune in hue lamps 😂

These iLight units are solid and reliable tungsten dimmers, and likely not faulty. They are leading edge dimmers, so not suitable for dimming most LEDs. LED lights will usually just flicker when dimmed. I wouldn't describe them as "smart" though. Just standard commercial dimmers.
@Cjrelectrical24 күн бұрын
Yeah not really suitable for todays low wattage led lights. The noise and heat they gave off was terrible.
@lucidlx24 күн бұрын
@@Cjrelectrical They still make a very similar model, but trailing edge. Overkill for a house with only a few fittings per channel. The smaller din rail versions are usually more suitable for domestic these days. Still not suitable for all "smart" bulbs though. I do wonder how often people actually use the RGB colours on their "smart" bulbs though!

Will that be the last time that James fingers a tight bush? Answers on a postcard ......

Shouldn’t have 1mm on a 10amp

Yeah I purchased 6amp in the end 👍

Current carrying capacity of 1.0mm twin and earth is 14A (without any de-rating factors taken into consideration or volt drop)
