Replacing Seals on 5" / 35 ton Log Splitter

Awesome video man!!! I’m just a good ole country boy with not much extra money. So… I have to try and fix things myself. I watch A LOT of KZbin videos just like this one to help me and it makes things A LOT easier!! Again, thank you for taking time to make a video. Now I guess I gotta go buy me a tractor to pull that piston outta that cylinder!! Lol I’m probably going to try a come-a-long first. If that doesn’t work I’ll go shopping for a tractor!

Great video, I have a 35 ton Dirty Hands Tools (no longer in business) and it looks the same as the county line one. Will be replacing the seals on mine this week and this was a big help since I have never done it before.

I cranked mine up and pulled the lever forward and it pushed mine out pretty easily

You can put the seals in a bowl of water and microwave them for about 15 seconds to soften them up a bit.

To remove the rod I think I will go with some all thread rod and make a plate for them at the foot and attach to end of shaft and ease them out by turning some nuts.

Drive the puck in and sand the rust away and use air pressure to blow it out, works most of the time Protect your eyes and goggles is best

His come along was broken and the ratchet strap handles were bending before the cylinder would pull out.
