What can I say, it's a service, but I feel like I made it entertaining for what it is. I hope you enjoy.

Hi Mike , when I got my fiesta mk about 15 months ago I did a service , I checked the air filter , it looked new , so I left it ,.I also checked the pollen filter , it was a bit dirty so I washed it in the sink with washing tablets , and put it back in , thanks for your videos , from Tony from bedfordshire ,

I didn’t think you’d be able to wash them, aren’t they a paper filter? I will get it changed soon. I was just playing on he fact that they always tend to get overlooked 😂 glad you’re enjoying gone videos mate 👍🏻

Thanks bro. Yeah it’s satisfying knowing I can do all these jobs myself, the channel is all about DIY, learning how to do stuff and pushing myself to do jobs I never thought I’d be able to do 🛠 oh really? Not good 😬 mine was fine in the end. I’m not convinced on the volumes in the manual, engine seems to take more oil than stated and so does the gearbox

I changed the pollen filter last week it was minging. If the pollen filter is blocked it causes moisture in the car during colder months. Also means you’re breathing in bacteria and other nasties. For £7 it’s a no brainer

Which spark plug did you use on your ford fiesta st 150 ?
@galerio995
@galerio995 Жыл бұрын
What I've learned from 9 years of Fiesta ownership is that, sooner or later, they will start to use oil (sometimes a lot of it). The 5w30 may be good for a less spicy 1.4 or 1.2 but I think that for a 2 litre that is usually been driven hard is better to have some 5w40 or 5w50 oil because they give much more protection. As for the spark plug, I recommend using OEM one because I always had problems with aftermarket ones (usually the ceramic breaks). Never had problems with MANN filters. Those are quite "simple" engines, so the use of OEM oil should be only advisable. Been using 5w40 A3/B4 oil for 9 years (tried the 5w50 too) and the engine is still in good shape after 230.000 chilometers. Also, I recommend try oil additives such as "tungsten disulphide". Put 35 grams of pure WS2 (not premixed ones) in your fresh oil and you tell me, it's quite incredibile.
@NirvanaSOAD960960
@NirvanaSOAD960960 Жыл бұрын
agreed on the thicker oil. my st150 needed topped up 500-1000ml every 120 miles if I was using 5w30 so I tried 5w40 and I get at least 300 miles between oil top ups now. Still not great but at least I can get a full tank of petrol without adding oil 🤣

I noticed that you’re missing the duct piece that going between the radiator and the lower grille opening. It’s like a floor and sides that forces air through the radiator instead of allowing it to pass out under the radiator etc. Reinstalling it made a noticeable difference to how well the AC works under high-heat conditions.
@MendItModIt
@MendItModIt 3 жыл бұрын
Now see I’ve noticed one little piece of ducting on the drivers side of the rad, and a gap where one is supposed to be on the passenger side so I assumed I was missing one there, I didn’t know about the one on the bottom so I’ll keep an eye out for those, thank you 😁 I’m also missing the aux belt cover I found out the other day 😩 again didn’t know there was one. Whoever owned this car before didn’t look after it 🙃

Nearly cried at you taking the pump out😂😅. Based on a video i saw before, it doesn't rly wiggle at first, and has to pop out straight, so had a pry bar either side (from up top and underneath) and wiggled until it came out. When you bled the cooling system did u have the heaters on hot?

Just changed oil and filter for the first time on my ST150, £29 for the stuff, much cheaper than a garage service

I changed my thermostat and also noticed a significant leak afterwards. Turns out I’d cracked the radiator where the bottom hose connects while trying to remove a very rusty clamp🤦‍♂️. Need to replace the hose too as it was still weeping after but I just chucked some radweld in and it stopped it.
@MendItModIt
@MendItModIt 3 жыл бұрын
Nightmare! I thought it was that hose to start with but I’ve had a good look and it seems to be fine. I thought it could have been the coolant tank but since I changed the water pump it seems to have sorted it 👌🏻
