My line keeps getting tangled within the cartridge, which keeps it from auto feeding. Doesn't seem to matter how tightly or loosely I rewind that spool. Any suggestions?

What about spooning it so you have a wire out each side??

Unfortunately it’s designed for 1. Although, I would immediately trade it up for a double line, gas powered!

I think it works well if you keep it nice and long for cutting big patches of grass, but along edges with metal or other stuff in the way, you should keep it very short. That way it shouldn’t come undone on the inside of the cartridge.

Flying off the spool or when in use? If the spool is in place and the cap is on, the line should lock when pulled on. If it continues to pull then the spool is not locked in place in the tracks. Try again and push down on the spool to make sure it’s in the proper grooves. I’m sorry to hear of the troubles, it can be tricky. Good luck!

Today was the first time I used it to do my entire yard without having to stop and fix the line! Usually I have to unspool and respool before use because the line always gets stuck then snaps. I admit it’s very frustrating!

@@lauracoteDIY Same here. I watched your video because I thought I was doing something wrong with my Weed Whacker. I've had my Ryobi for several years, but used it only rarely. I bought the Ryobi 3pack spool and have gone through them within days last week because I keep having to adjust the line. Big PITA! I called Ryobi and they were VERY nice on the phone. They suggested using a light spray of WD40 on the spool to help lubricate the line in helping it release better. They said, this is not uncommon. I used WD40 and still won't work correctly. I'm very disappointed.

If you can press one side button and shove a screw driver or something in, you might be able to shim it and then push the other button to pop up. It’s tough, I sometimes have issues. Good luck!

@@lauracoteDIY at this point anything is a upgrade lol. But I would go with a Husqvarna or Honda based trimmer if need power. If not a simple ryobi 120cc is plenty for around house
