But, unlike a lot of people who say that the UN has no place anymore and Russia's invasion shows that. I disagree, just look at all the amazing speeches made by the World leaders this week. Not just the giants but the African and Asian countries who are rarely heard internationally. It is still a wonderful venue where the world comes together to discuss and air grievances, find ways to work together. It is the topmost responder for humanitarian aid.

Good speech. The reality is, though, that the world order we have today was brokered by and guaranteed by the US. The goal was to oppose the Soviet Union. That was successful 30 years ago. China's rise was a result of the US guaranteed order. Now the US is withdrawing support for that. China is on the edge, and without the US order it will fail. China has also been remiss in meeting any reasonable climate goals. They are building coal fired plants at a furious pace. The technology of green energy is not yet there to replace the old technologies. So, all this talk is somewhat pointless. It is a technological issue, not an international relations one.

It’s great to see leadership with energy. I wish Macron spoke more of how inequality is fueling the current instability in the world. The Russian hybrid warfare paradigm is using it to create powerful divisions within countries all over the world. In America it’s education, the judicial system, and the tax regime driving socioeconomic division. I’m not sure what it is in other countries, but the result is the same, and it’s something the elites need to take very seriously.

The West and in particular France has dual personality. When it comes to West's interests, invasion and violation of other countries is justified and an act of heroism. When others resist West's advances, they are called all kinds of names and labeled as violators of human rights and disruptors of the world order that the West defined in the first place. I appreciate the passion but it is still towrds ones' self interest. France played a major role in distruction of Middle East and parts of Africa.

However, what I want to see is France put their money where their mouth is, step up and provide money and weapons for Ukraine that is proportional to the size of their economy, because to date France has been an embarrassment, sitting back and letting the US & UK shoulder the financial burden

Why always disrespect of treaties has been the cause of conflict. For example the versaile treaty breach was the main cause of WW11 now see the breach of Minsk agreement is the cause of conflict in Ukraine. PM Modi should remember that also that the extention of NATO towards East is a key factor towards the situation currently
