Personally, I like idea of tying a tax to its use. I am against raising property taxes to fund roads because not everyone that uses the roads are property owners. Sales tax is the way to go for this. Then everyone that shops in Edmond, and uses the roads to get there, helps pay for the cost. With that said, I personally MIGHT be open to replacing the temp 1 cent sales tax with a property tax to fund city operations, since primarily Edmond residents would benefit.

This is great and I hope it happens but we need to stop with the red lights and awful signal system. People are getting tired of it, running red lights entirely, road rage, excessive speeding upwards of 60-70MPH to get to the next light before it turns red, I’m seeing this all over and I suspect a lot of it is due to the fact a light will turn red with no one coming or will prioritize one car wanting to turn left over an entire convoy of a dozen cars approaching the intersection.
