Thank you! I still have to do your day gecko care video - I haven’t forgotten! As discussed in the video, I’m still not happy with how I am caring for my own, which is why the care video is still not here yet 😉

Love your enclosure's setups and how much space you're providing for your animals👌 and i've had the same experience with my crested gecko. That's why i sold him with his tank. I prefer animals that i get to observe, i realised don't want pets that i never get to see..

Very nice! Im in the same boat, my plan is research and write scripts whenever i get a free moment, and when i do get the chance to film go for it and make loads in batch! Get a excel spreadsheet of video ideas and everytime something pops in your mind jot it down. Can be more productive just shifting down a list and getting things done that way.

Quick question, I noticed (from a past video) that you don't have a drainage layer for your leopard gecko. Has that caused any problems for you, or has it been fine since its mostly arid
@JTBReptiles4 жыл бұрын
I only have drainage layers in my tropical gecko enclosures: the others are sufficiently dry not to warrant them. So, no, I have not had any problems 🙂

what plants do you have in with your western greens?
@chefboy64364 жыл бұрын
Following
@JTBReptiles4 жыл бұрын
An azalea, dichondra, lavender (RIP), Kenilworth ivy, English ivy, hen-n'-chicks, and a particular type of berry bush whose name currently escapes me... I'll remember it later on and leave another reply when I can think of the name! The azalea is (potentially) highly toxic, so care should be taken that none gets ingested by the lizards.

Great video I have a question in my Leo enclosure I now use heat and uvb along with a plant light my Leo hardly eats now the reason he does this is because does not come out to bask to get enough heat any tips
@ojinga4 жыл бұрын
How long have you had the new heating for?
@JTBReptiles4 жыл бұрын
A few questions: - What do you mean by "I now use heat"? What heating element is it and what wattage? Where is it in the enclosure? - What UV lamp are you using? How large is it? What reflector has it got? How far away is it from the animal at the closest point? Where is it in the enclosure? - What is the plant light and again, where is it in the enclosure? - How long ago did you implement these changes? - What are the temperatures around the enclosure? How are you measuring these values?
@myzoo28564 жыл бұрын
@@JTBReptiles OK so are used to use a heat pad now are use overhead heating I am using a 10 point Repti sun uvb lamp I recently switched about three weeks ago maybe one week the enclosure is a 29 gallon And the plant light is the bio dude plant light and it is just over the top of the enclosure because there is a screen mesh because it is a 29 gallon and the closest point he can get to the UV is about 4 inches away through a mesh and The highest temp is 91 but where he is in his hide is like 79 to 81 he will not come out to bask or he eats like 5 mealworms a week

I have a question, can chameleons be with geckos I’m just wondering
@JTBReptiles4 жыл бұрын
I think not. The common chameleons in the pet trade (Yemen/veiled, panthers, and to a lesser extent Jackson’s) will readily make a snack of many geckos, and those geckos too large to be consumed by a chameleon would probably stress it out considerably - chameleons seem to be quite stressy animals, it would seem. I’m all up for cohabitation where appropriate, but I think that this is one of those combos which just wouldn’t work 🙂

If you cover the bottom part of the window it might reduce their angst, often I find tropical species are a lot harder to keep especially small ones. I disagree with you keeping your Leos together but ill wait till I see your video to make a comment on that. Your Viv's look great! Cambridge uni u nerd! Love your videos! Have a good day!

Because the benefits that social interaction can bring to certain species are, when taken into consideration of the downsides, sufficient cause to keep the animals in a group setting provided also that all means are taken to minimise the likelihood of any particular downside ever being realised.
