This is the same formulaic trailer I’ve seen for every “thriller” film for the past 20 years. Play some slower, creepier version of a well-known pop song, fast edits with slashing or boom sounds, then mute the song and have the lead character say “it was just that simple…”. Then another boom then the title card. Hollywood really needs a new shtick.

Ok, when are gonna start giving Oscars for trailers? I feel that if they did, we would end up seeing more trailers like this, as opposed to the 90% insanely shitty ones out there that show way too much, tell you the complete story and then expect people to come and see it when they just SAW the whole freaking movie in two and a half minutes. This trailer not only gets me interested, but it has a great pace to it that builds suspense, shows that great acting chops of of the actors involved and shows just enough of the story so you know what the premise it. All without giving anything away. Well done. I'm in.

Cher is all grown up. It's been nearly 30 years since that goofy but endearing role. Del Toro made a splash and won en Oscar for his role in Traffic and his Sicario was a good movie. This film looks interesting, Timberlake notwithstanding.
